  1. I see the fans are being asked to vote for the naming of the six training pitches - six from the hall of fame - Alec Young, Alex McLeish, Ally Shewan, Arthur Graham, Chris Anderson, Dick Donald, Donald Colman, Drew Jarvie, Eoin Jess, Fred Martin, Graham Leggat, Henning Boel, Jim Bett, Jim Hermiston, Jim Leighton, Joe Harper, John Hewitt, John McMaster, Martin Buchan, Neale Cooper, Neil Simpson, Peter Weir, Stuart Kennedy, Teddy Scott, Willie Miller I think Teddy Scott, Joe Harper, and Willie Miller are a given....perhaps Hewitt for his goal, the other two?? Don't know enough about pre 1983, Cooper for being such a fans favourite? McLeish is our most capped but I doubt he'd get the votes. I think an older player is appropriate but in more modern times is Jess considered enough of a legend? Tough considering we were shite for most of his time here.
  2. Main hasn't been given a chance. Give him the chance and playing time Cosgrove got last year then judgement is fair, and I think we'd get similar return. However, I do think he's shite but we are jumping the gun. Don't think he's much different to Sam, and Sam looks shite much more often than he looks good. Your assessment of Sam is so inflated - he's inconsistent at all of what you say, plus he's still a red card waiting to happen far too often. Should score double what he does given the chances he gets too, and your comment about him learning how to shoot, that's a good one! No fucking clue what is going on with Wilson. I have to assume coming from Man Utd he's one of our higher earners. Why sign him having had him for a year, then give him so few minutes? Much like Cosgrove, I'd like to see him given the starts and patience Cosgrove got before making judgement. He's not been great but gets such inconsistent playing time that's it's hard to get in any sort of rhythm. However, he has shown in glimpses that he's capable. I think Wilson is better than Sam and Main but I still would rather have all 3 replaced by someone else.
  3. Typo. Anything above 500k I think is realistic but I’d certainly reluctantly accept a pitiful 5 mill I suppose.
  4. Did I miss any hints from DM of late that we are not finished in the transfer market? DM saw the need for Maddison and Christie and brought them in, surely he sees the news now for a similar player.
  5. Please! Sell Cosgrove for anything about 500k. I think there’s very little between Cosgrove and main, and if Main is given the time and patience we gave Sam we’ll get similar results, especially if we give him penalties. Saying that, they are both shite and I’d rather have Wilson up top. Means we have to change our style of play though which means DM has to coach and adapt. Would prefer this option if DM was a capable coach. My preferred option though is to sell and sign two players, ideally permanent or alternatively loan. A forward and a creative number 10. If we can loan Maddison or Christie DM saw the need for that, surely he sees the need now. Out of curiosity, who thinks Kyle lafferty is better than Cosgrove and main? Regardless of him being a cunt.
  6. Shinnie was effective for us. Work rate, leadership, passion and drive. Something we are clearly lacking now. I don’t see Cocu giving him a chance as the Dutch pretty much require the technical Shinnie doesn’t have. In an average to below average league Shinnie was certainly one of the better midfielders but EPL and championship teams do pretty much require more than he has. Think he may have missed the boat at the Huns too with all their signings, I could see him returning to us in january.
  7. I think what you are missing is yes we had Hayes, McGinn, and Rooney on fire but what we miss is the McLean, Christie, Maddison in the middle of the park who threaten centrally. They can penetrate or pick a pass, and score. We give it wide to guys who are inconsistent or on the decline and slowing down, or dump long ball. Both are relatively easy to stop. We have run out of creativity.
  8. McInnes will never be sacked.....unless perhaps he gets us relegated. We will wait until he leaves, however long that is. Manager is comfortable and Milne just happy we’re consistently top 6. With the new facilities in building phase he won’t want the change of manager. Just wished he’d gone to the Huns when given the chance.
  9. Haha. So you really didn’t change channel.
  10. That’s the way I see it, did very well for us. Didn’t make the 18 for derby today, no clue if he’s fit or injured.
  11. Sorry Rico, don’t agree with you at all regarding your pragmatic comment. When we go down to 10 men we have a choice to make. Quit or try. We quit. At 2-0 I don’t accept we have lost with 70 minutes left. I’d respect a coach if we lost 5-0 and he said afterwards that at 2-0 we had nothing to lose so made subs and had a go. Or if we lost 3-1 or at least scored. Did we even have real scoring chances? The last 70 minutes were dire, as were the last 3 games in general, and that’s all down to the manager. He signs the players, picks the team, and dictates tactics. And motivates the players to perform.....or not. We’ve been pish this last week after a promising start and that started with the overly defensive first leg performance. Yes blame Shay, but with that defensive a performance they were going to score, it was a matter of time just like games against Celtic. DM said after the game yesterday that at 2-0 the tie was over. He gave up. That told me an awful lot. From what I saw, manager and players stopped trying and I cannot accept that at all. A horrible thing to say, but if Lennon or Gerrard were manager we’d have done a lot more last night than DM did, they wouldn’t have quit. There is pragmatic, and there is toothless/spineless. Too often have we seen the latter in big games hence the reaction by so many to this past week.
  12. Think the dressing room is just fine and DM has a strong relationship with the players. That’s part of the problem, he’s too close and they probably don’t ‘fear’ him.
  13. What a disappointment, and how 8 days can change the feelings of so many. Was really excited about today and the bubble burst before we even really started. First goal defending was shocking, 3 guys could have pressured the through ball but didn’t. Felt for Ojo and he’s taking a lot of stick, unlucky to get two bookings. Was really disappointed to see how we pretty much gave up and just went through the motions in the second half, and that comes from the manager. Also disappointing to hear DM say post match that the game was over after the red card. Whilst it became a much harder job I’d have still had a go, he didn’t. I’d have put Campbell on for a defender and gone back 3. I’d also have yanked Cosgrove at half time and gone with Wilson, tried something different at that point as a big lump up top was failing. Main is gash, got little service again, but I just don’t rate him. I’m not over reacting like many but from what I’ve seen after 8 games is that we are in dire need of a creative central midfielder. We need a Ryan Christie or James Maddison. When we play Gallagher Ojo Ferguson and Cosgrove we have such little flair. I don’t think Bryson is that type either. Id suggest McGinn in there instead of wide if we don’t sign anyone as he’s getting on and the pace isn’t quite there anymore. We’ve tried Wright in there but he’s failed to take his chances. Interesting to note he didn’t even make the bench today. We are so predictable that it’s either long ball to Cosgrove (who is shite, don’t care what some say) or give it wide to one of the two wingers and hope for the best. We need central flair to suck in the defense to give the wide guys and forward more space, and to have control of the ball in the final third and look threatening, we struggle with that. I still think we are better than last year, but we need a good confidence booster and a few goals this Sunday.
  14. Big Sam will be sent off sooner than later. Why is he still out there? We're going through the motions, have given up.
  15. Well, manager, what you going to do at half time? I’d go 3 at the back, surprised we didn’t pull Logan or Leigh for Campbell. Seriously lacking creativity now without McGinn.
  16. Big Sam won’t last. We’re fucked if we weren’t already.
  17. All long ball now. Gtf.
  18. We lack a #10, no creativity centrally in midfield so we go long......again.
  19. Cosgrove starts!
  20. I’d say no. We’re a diddy league. Rangers and Celtic have pull because of facilities and crowds, plus pay, and so called history. We’re just a small club who to them overachieved 30 plus years ago. Other clubs like us in Europe have folded.
  21. I don't buy that. We were getting more and more defensive and if it wasn't Logan it would have been someone else. Just like when we play Celtic most times, and I'm sure Rangers this year, it's sit back until we inevitably lose one. We would have gifted a goal or they'd have scored as they did the second goal.
  22. Where is it confirmed Sam is out? If he is, please Lewis Logan-Considine-McKenna-Leigh Hedges-Ojo-Ferguson-mcginn Main-Wilson
  23. You meaning anyone specific or just people in general? For me the manager gets credit when it’s due but gets deserved criticism when he fails. I’d rather he wasn’t the manager but he is and I’m a reasonable man to acknowledge when he does something right, plus I want Aberdeen to always do well. It’s not personal, I don’t dislike the guy, I just don’t think he’s a good coach. That's where he’s limited and has shown that many times. Like many though, it’s a new season, optimism, and I’m running into a brick wall again and again hoping for a different result. Besides a manager who wins the league, every cup, the Eurovision Song Contest, the general election, Wimbledon, defeats Clubber Lang, over powers Lincoln Hawk, out wits Garry Kasparov, sees off Joey Chestnut, and beds 12 Victoria Secret models on consecutive nights, what would make you happy?
  24. Your last sentence is the main problem and point. They aren’t that good, but how many games have we played in the last 4-5 years where we’ve been ultra defensive and conservative when our opponent hasn’t been that good. Too many times we focus on the opponent rather than playing to and maximizing our strengths.
  25. I don’t expect us to come out high tempo, as much as we should. DM will shit it and be cautious.
