  1. St Mirren lose to East Kilbride on penalties. Early season favorites for relegation??
  2. I suppose it’s really paper talk but it does sound like there’s a fair amount of interest in Stevie May. While a loan means we could potentially help others in the league but he can’t play against us. I just don’t see him ever given the minutes to come good for us so I say we cash in and sell him to the highest bidder, whether in our league or any other. I wouldn’t be too worried to see him line up against us this season. Realistically though, can see us getting any more than 100k for him.
  3. I think we may see an older Bryson sit behind a more attack minded Ferguson, but also I think we may see one holding mid in Fonso behind those two in a bit more of a 4-1-4-1. Wilson isn’t fit yet, DM sees him as a wide player who can also play up top if we decide to go with two forwards. He’ll push McGinn, Hedges, and McLennan for playing time, but I also think with both mcginn and hedges having past injuries he’ll get his chances when he’s fit (which in itself has its doubts with his previous injuries.)
  4. Any more info on the injury? Post match interview DM said torn hamstring and he’d miss 2-3 games but that’s not the time frame for a hamstring tear. Hoping it’s a strain or pull but regardless it’s rest and losing fitness and we all saw a semi fit Devlin in the spring. I’m assuming that was the sell to Taylor (and Shugnasty), you’ll start a lot and Devlin is an injury worry.
  5. Based on what I’ve seen I’d take Hedges, McGinn, or Gallagher wide before McLennan. Still not convinced by him, too much fumbling and falling over the ball or simply running straight into defenders. The three above in the last two games have looked very creative and produced chances.
  6. I suppose something else to add which is perhaps relevant. Starting this round McKenna - 22 Devlin - 25 Gallagher - 23 Wright - 21 Ferguson - 19 Campbell - 18 Hedges - 24 Cosgrove - 22 We’re a young team, good to get these experiences, surely these guys can only get better.
  7. Yup, the Steve Clarke era is officially over. Killie resuming normal service?
  8. A little surprised at the criticism and negativity. That was a typical DM performance, manage the game and see it out. Tactically went a little more defensive with Campbell ahead of Wright, and we didn’t play with the same attacking pace or urgency we saw last week. Job done and if Sam could have taken chances 3-4 to 1 would not have been unfair tonight. I’m not an Ash fan but he was fine tonight. My only criticism is Sam and his missed chances. Thought Dean Campbell played well, got a lovely tough and sorry, plays like Ryan Jack. Pretty sure Gallagher was told to be less aggressive going forward tonight so we didn’t see many lung bursting runs. Again, job done. I also think the surface played a factor, both in team selection and play during the game. No need to go all out and risk injury when the game is under control. Next week I hope to see Leigh, Funso, and Bryson and wonder how much of an effect the last two will have in midfield. We need to boss teams in there and Gallagher and Ferguson are a little blood and guts and will the new guys bring greater creativity. Still not sure of Ferguson's role but you may see him and Bryson switch between holding and attacking mid. Also, and many apologies, but I do see Ferguson a bit in the Scott Brown mold.
  9. And a 3 yard header missed ? Big Sam doing his best to keep them in it.
  10. 1-1, 37 mins and big Sam misses a header from maybe 5 yards? FFS, similar to missing the sitter in the first few mins of the first game. Reason I’d rather start Main, he misses so many fucking easy chances.
  11. I’d assume Lewis Logan-Taylor-McKenna-Considine Ferguson-Gallagher Hedges-Wright-McGinn Cosgrove The only potential switch I’d see would be Campbell for Wright if DM plans on being a little more cautious. Would rather play Main but don’t see that happening.
  12. What’s everyone’s take on the squad at present? Lewis Cerny Rogers (expect to go out on loan) Logan Gallagher Taylor Devlin Considine McKenna Leigh Wright McGinn Hedges McLennan Bryson Campbell Ferguson Gleeson (who I expect gone) May (who I expect gone) Wilson Main Cosgrove That’s 19 excluding Rogers, Gleeson, and May, and doesn’t include any more young boys, Anderson, Ross x 2 or 3, Virtanen. That’s not bad depth, I assume we’re done in the transfer window? I suppose my only thing would be to loan Campbell, sell/loan Wright (aka Pawlett) and punt Gleeson, and add another central midfielder.
  13. Experienced this in the states, I certainly refer the cork and not as 'sticky' as the rubber. Anyway, anyone got a score prediction since the threat is for the match. I expect 3-0 us. Main, Gallagher, and Ferguson.
  14. Wondered the same thing. Taylor play ahead of Devlin? McGinn doesn’t usually do the plastic I think? I doubt Bryson is risked.
  15. Interesting red tv interview. Sounds like DM really wanted the guy and well played for going all out to get him. Also sounds like Funso doesn’t lack on confidence, hope he’s a player!
  16. Similar scoring record to many of our forwards ?
  17. Morrison is interesting. My initial response was no given he’s 33 and we’ve already signed s 32 year old but as pointed out I can’t see Bryson playing every game and Ferguson was run to death last year. However, getting buy in that Bryson, Ferguson, Ojo, and Morrison won’t always start or be first choice may be tough but in terms of numbers if we sign Ojo I still think we’re one central mid short. It would certainly give us the depth we need in central midfield plus allow us to put Dean Campbell out on loan for much needed playing time and experience. European football and DMs WBA connection give us the edge here?
  18. One game does not a player make. Been gash the best part of two years now. Gallagher is on the up, Shay the opposite direction. Would be a good permanent signing.
  19. Surprised by the concerns regarding hedges, I thought it was an impressive debut. Gallagher looks a find and gives us competition at right back, as well as depth in multiple positions. I know it’s only one game but would be a good permanent signing. Disappointed in Cosgrove, should have finished the tie for us, and despite last years goals I’m not a fan. Would like to see Main for the second leg. Still rely too much on Ferguson, would like to see two more central mids signed. Not a bad performance and their goal was certainly deflating but I expect 2-0, 3-0 us next week.
  20. Based on what I saw today we do need an experienced holding midfielder to play alongside Ferguson with Bryson ahead as our #10. Wouldn’t mind seeing Gallagher at right back, certainly got the engine to bomb up and down and give Shay the kick up the arse he needs.
  21. Disappointing end but solid enough and plenty of positives. See us moving in to the next round. Good performances, only gripes being big Sam not scoring a few and Scotty Wright, just not involved enough for a number ten, needs to have a bigger influence on the game.
  22. Hedges looks a good find. Is gallagher willo flood in disguise?
  23. WTF! Not working??
  24. Too much doom and gloom lads. Here’s my take. Main provides competition for playing time with Cosgrove, I think that brings more out of both. Wilson will be better, reality check for him and I’m pretty sure he sees us as a shop window and will perform. Both hedges and Gallagher look promising. No clue about the left back but we couldn’t afford a Lowe type player and he can’t be worse than Considine at left back. Looks strong, powerful, good in the air, and pacy, attributes that are good for our league. We all agree Bryson is a good signing and I expect him to have the influence Robson had on our central midfield and team. Make or break year for Scotty Wright, has looked lively in preseason and perhaps a breakout like McKenna had returning from Ayr United. Glass is half full! Happier today than I was at the start of last season.
  25. I rate McGeouch, i think there’s a player there. But as people say, I think he’s not really interested in coming to us. Saying that, the only one quoted in the media is Ross saying he wants to keep him but that doesn’t say whether DMG wants to stay. I was never convinced GMS wanted to be here and he saw us as simply an opportunity to be seen and get another move, this would be the same in my opinion.
