  1. Definitely not a knee jerk reaction. Lost interest. So sick of DM tactics. Sent to the stands, don’t come back. And I share the feelings of many. Edit - posted before the Ferguson red, discipline lost, but the manager picks the team, selects the tactics, and is the one responsible.
  2. Well, I’ll add to my previous post. Awful game for the first 70 minutes but could easily have been 3 or 4 in the end. The quality of play leaves a lot to be desired but a win is a win. Don’t know how the season will play out, could win 4 or even all 5 or not win again, been that kind of season.
  3. Fucking awful game. Only seen second half as first was red tv tech issues. We are crying out for a skillful central midfielder (Ryan Christie or Kenny McLean type.) no central player who can put a foot on the ball and bring us forward with any sort of threat. I certainly hope we don’t sign Stewart. Minimal contributions from McGinn or McLennan, awful to watch.
  4. We’ve been going backwards for 3 if you ask me. Problems started when we couldn’t fix center mid when flood and Robson were done. Jack and McLean were ok but that’s the main problem area. Add to that Christie’s replacement was forester and we have no spark in attacking mid. Too many like me are losing interest, and our performances are getting worse each season. The win at parkhead meant nothing to me given the circumstances, and winning at ibrox this year papers over the ever increasing cracks - too many are blind to the fact it’s getting bad fast. Today highlighted DM. Stewart was non existent but lasted 80 mins, manager doesn’t know what to do with him, and the tactical change we needed then to change the game since it hadn’t been working all game was to put Devlin up top with 5 mins left. I honestly don’t think he knew what to do today.
  5. And considine shite for the second goal, McKenna no better. We are shit and horrible to watch. Stewart has done fuck all and lasts 80 mins??? Bad signing unfortunately, May at least tries. Devlin up front for the last 5 mins. Our long ball shite has been useless all day, so send another big man in for more long ball. Genius from DM. Silence on this forum says it all. While we have the odd good result change is needed. We’re going backwards.
  6. Confiding is fucking useless. Fouls the boy every time the forward gets the ball and needlessly dives in for the penalty. Diehard don who gives his all but just not good enough.
  7. Agree with most of this, as much as May doesn’t score I think he suits our team and style of play more than Stewart. I also agree Ferguson needs a rest, DM is running this guy into the ground. Consi is the tough one, Devlin and McKenna is the partnership I prefer but Devlin needs to get fully match fit and sharp, not just medically fit, and I’d say needs a few reserve games. Tough to drop Andy too, finally being played in the right position. As much as he’s limited he’s playing well and can’t really be dropped.
  8. I think it's best for both parties that DM gets this job! It's going to be really tough for him to maintain the 'results' of the last 6 years with Rangers spending, Killie and Hearts competitive, and Hibs there or thereabouts. The squad continues to get worse, I can only assume Shinnie and GMS are gone, and his last 3 major signings, Forrester, Gleeson, and loanee Wilson, have been pish. He won't get a premiership job, this is the next best thing. His stock isn't going to get any higher.
  9. Arthur albiston was the man united left back at the time, Maurice Malpas too.
  10. Funny, I thought it was a pretty dire game. Lucky not to be one down inside 4 minutes and we scored against the run of play. Thought mclellan was poor, lots of dribbling, stumble over the ball, no end product. Would he have been better out on loan than wright? Our play in the final third was slow, limited ball movement and poor passing, usually dribble and hope the individual creates something which didn’t happen much. Still, this has been DMs Aberdeen, grind out a result against the mid/lower teams but not overly pretty. Good win.
  11. I’d say it won’t be too long before Ferguson gets more attention than McKenna in the transfer market.
  12. Given the amount of shit reffing this year in particular, I don't see how anyone can argue against VAR. In this day and age we have technology that can help in quick time, it's a no brainer.
  13. I think Hoban is potentially cover for all of the back 4. If Devlin is fit for tomorrow I just hope he partners Hoban and not Considine. With Devlin and Hoban returning, and Lowe here til the end of the season, Andy should be the one to drop out. I also think Hoban was signed as a potential left back and it wasn’t until he was injured that we then signed Lowe. Lowe has been fantastic and Devlin and McKenna are our first choice once healthy so while Hoban has looked good he’ll drop to the bench.
  14. Thought Hoban played well. Didn’t think we were particularly good but I thought we managed the game quite well. I think Shinnie and Ferguson are a solid two in center mid, and I thought Shinnie was very good today.
  15. I’m just surprised little or nobody speaks positively of Hayes potentially returning. I did say earlier he’d be our best wide player and that’s a sad admission but true and an upgrade which is a good thing. Our January dealings have been very underwhelming. As much as Lowe is a good player we all want a big more glamorous signings rather than three potential players returning to the club. Highlights the weaknesses in our scouting and transfers but I’m not surprised.
  16. I'm surprised by the reaction towards the potential return of Hayes. He was our best player a year and a half ago. McGinn has deteriorated, GMS is inconsistent, Wright is the new Pawlett, and the young guys still need time. Hayes will be our best wide player even if he's not fully the player he used to be. Looked ok when we played Celtic recently, I'd rather take him than some diddy from Division 3.
  17. It’s always going to be a struggle when our attacking players include Shinnie, cosgrove, Ferguson, and May. Despite their strengths that’s minimal flair. Gms is too hot/cold and in order to accommodate Stewart centrally you have to drop May. Playing him wide limits us, we need a flair player there. It’s a dilemma, we found form pre break but adding Stewart tends to force us back to 4-2-3-1 which didn’t give us much success. 4-4-2 can’t include may and Stewart.

    Lennon

I couldn’t see Milne hiring Lennon. He’s a winner and demanding, I get the impression DM settles and Lennon would have expectations Milne wouldn’t be willing to match. Think Hibs are seeing that at present.
  19. That's a stretch. One cross that Cosgrove blew the header and got his own rebound, and the other he took a corner. May has 2 goals (penalties too), 1 assist in 20 games, a forward who doesn't score from open play. Stewart is 8 goals and 6 assists in 16. It's a no brainer. It blows my mind the praise and support May is getting, I just don't rate what he gives to the team no matter how hard he runs around and tries.
  20. As does Stewart, drops deep and wide stretching the defense too, but is much more dangerous. He was given freedom to roam from what i saw against Accies and pulls the defense out of position. May sprints around and chases lost causes, often for no gain or benefit. I think people mistake his sprinting around aimlessly for a hard working player. As I said, Stewart is the much more dangerous player. People have praised May for his effort but he does nothing that isn't easily done by Stewart.
  21. I'd assume Stewart joined us on the agreement that he's first choice (as much as that's tough to guarantee.) I don't see him being dropped for a game against Killie of all people. May runs around a lot but that's more or less it in my eyes. Stewart is much more creative and more of a scoring threat. I'd say McGinn replaces May, the rest the same as against Accies.
  22. 8 goals in 16 games, but he also had 6 assists too. That's good form, and since he doesn't have Christie and McLean to compete with for the withdrawn striker/attacking mid role you'd like to think we'll see a central Stewart doing well for us.
  23. Surprised by the silence to the Stewart signing. Maybe I'm the minority with a few spare Donstalk minutes. He was excellent for Killie, must be a real kick in the teeth for them too. Really curious to what happens with Shinnie and GMS. Thankfully Lowe is back so we have a legit defender, so Shinnie is still planned to be in the middle of the park. No clue if the link with McTominay was shite, probably, but so far I'm happy with Lowe and Stewart and if we had the funds to add McT i'd be happy. Praying Stewart doesn't get punted out wide if GMS leaves.
  24. That was my assumption, to get him for the weekend. Since he's been recalled from the Killie loan you have to assume the permanent deal is coming. Given his form, I think this is a good signing provided he plays alongside and centrally with Cosgrove.
  25. Is he left footed/left sided?
