  1. Appreciate the optimism, but other than post split last year where we dug out a second place finish it’s been doom and gloom for a while. Team performances have been generally poor for over a year now, tactics constantly baffling, our two central mids than we thought would finally be the replacements for Flood Jack Robson and McLean appear failures, McKenna will probably go in January, and increasingly worrying that GMS and Shinnie will be offski too. While people complain about the complainers, to me a good result or two simply papers over increasing cracks. I think we missed an opportunity punting DM to the Huns, both for our benefit and to limit their progress.
  2. What the fuck drugs are you on? I’ll have some.
  3. I figured it’s about time to start this. I think there’s a very good chance that come January we’re bottom six and lost a cup semi. I’m expecting McKenna to be sold plus I do see both Shinnie and GMS moving on, possibly Shinnie doing a McLean returning on loan but I see GMS moving if we can get some cash. With Ross, Wright, McGinn, and McLelland, DM will see us as having ample cover. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Gleeson and or Forrester punted too, those two haven’t worked out. Tough to argue otherwise. Tansey too. Honestly, the squad needs an overhaul, happy to see the young boys given a run and save any money from exports in January for transfers in the summer. Think we’re also due an offer or two for Joe Lewis. Wouldn’t be surprised to see that in the winter window. Sad to say that i’m writing this season off, shame since Devlin is an excellent signing, what I wouldn’t have given for a player like him over the last few years. Would be happy to see the manager go too, things are stale and we’re going in the wrong direction both in performance and league position. Yesterday, with Wilson stuck in the Rooney wide left role, emphasized that we need fresh ideas and someone with a different set of contacts in the transfer market. DM, it was good while it lasted, but we’re going nowhere fast by the looks of things.
  4. I don’t care that it’s an awful penalty decision, let’s not have that distract from the fact we were absolutely terrible in that half. 2-0 down is the least hearts deserve. Fucking embarrassment. We’ll get smashed at this rate.
  5. Embarrassing. Never a penalty but no more than Hearts and we deserve. Out. Not watching this shite.
  6. Can see us losing by 3 or 4 at this rate and we won’t finish with 11 on the pitch. Painfully bad.
  7. 1-0 hearts. We are absolutely fucking shocking. Worst I’ve seen in a long time. Looks like Wilson has that Adam Rooney left mid role today ffs.
  8. Obviously I'm biased but who is better than Devlin and McKenna in the middle? Neither are outstanding but good players. Sadly a shit time to start establish themselves with the way the national team is, but also an opportunity I suppose...
  9. Wow. I’d like to see this given more attention and publicity.
  10. First time I’ve criticized Forrester and Gleason but I really don’t think they can handle the pace and demands of Scottish football. I’d much rather see Dom Ball or Dean Campbell next to Shinnie before Gleason, and I thought Forrester was a #10 in behind the main forward causing havoc but he drops so deep to avoid physical play, rarely gets involved, and just doesn’t contribute. Interesting to see today how much Ferguson looks to get on the ball, he’s streets ahead of Forrester. I’d much rather see Ferguson, or Wright, McGinn, or Wilson in the #10 position. Gleason and Forrester just don’t appear SPL material. I’d like to see Wright, McLennan, and/or Ross given time before McGinn. He’s a shadow of the player he once was. I think Cosgrove is not too bad to be honest and maybe today is the start of something for him, but I’d really like to see Anderson alongside him if Wilson isn’t healthy. It won’t happen but I’d like - Lewis Logan-Devlin-McKenna-Lowe Wright-ferguson-Shinnie-GMS Cosgrove-Anderson
  11. Pains me to say it but the lack of goals is probably down to losing the creativity of McLean, and to a lesser extent, Christie. Should I add O’Connor to that??? While a solid signing, Ferguson is not that creative player, it’s forrester that’s been the huge disappointment. I’d argue we signed him and thus didn’t go for Stevie Mallan.
  12. Appreciate positive words and from what I saw we weren’t that bad. McGinn unlucky and GMS should have scored. However, a loss is a loss when other teams are taking points off the Tims.
  13. I think 7 'defenders' is very relevant. Sends a clear message of intent, and makes the mindset of our manager pretty obvious. Playing Shinnie, Ball, even Lowe in midfield is very different to playing Shinnie, Forrester, and McGinn for example. We have quite often played a vulnerable Celtic and choose not to have a go but fail playing with a defensive mindset. This, to me, is a game we have a go with more attack minded players when Celtic aren't on form and are lacking defenders. As someone posted, we didn't look like scoring against Hibs in 90 mins and have struggled this year, the Wednesday lineup isn't good enough for me for this weekend. Our manager will shit it though, and I even see him dropping a forward for another midfielder. I'd accept Ball and Shinnie in center mid since Shinnie does get forward, obviously McKenna and Devlin, with Logan and Lowe pushing forward from full back (plus we need the pace of Lowe for the tims) , but the remaining 4 need to be attack minded players.
  14. Funny, they don't have any defenders and we'll play 7.
  15. Red tv video anyone? What's going on, just logged in?
  16. Interesting line up coming. Devlin obviously comes back in (assuming the suspension is over) so what happens at left back? Lowe is clearly the better full back, Considine dropped? Lewis Logan-Devlin-McKenna-Lowe Gleeson-Shinnie GMS-Wilson-McGinn Cosgrove (as much as I’d prefer to see Anderson)
  17. Never a red, both foul each other since they both jersey pull. Brophy pulls Devlin Jersey first so if it’s red for a jersey pull and it’s clear brophy pulls/fouls first does that get considered? And it’s an awfully dramatic dive. I’d also say Logan is level with Devlin so could be considered a covering defender?
  18. Here’s my take - Devlin replaces Arnason and defender O’Connor - stronger Gleason replaces midfielder O’Connor - stronger Forrester replaces McLean - significantly weaker so far Ferguson replaces Christie - weaker (but potential) Wilson replaces Rooney - time will tell Cosgrove replaces Stockley - same Anderson replaces Maynard - probably stronger Campbell replaces Chidi - probably stronger Ross replaces Stewart - same, very different player but potential Lowe replaces Harvie - I’d assume stronger If Wilson is anything decent he’s an upgrade on Rooney but goals are needed, plus replacing McLean and Christie is a huge ask and so far we appear significantly weaker in the creative engine of the team. I fear McGinn is passed it and a lot is needed from youth, and that means contributions from Wright Ross Ferguson Campbell and Anderson. I think DM recognizes the shit squad fillers were a waste and McKenna’s rise has convinced him to give youth a chance. That’s a plus in my eyes. In areas we’re stronger, I think Lowe may be an upgrade on Considine but Andy still scored a goal or two. Devlin is a huge plus. However, is any other area stronger? The goals and assists from Rooney Hayes McGinn McLean and Christie over the last two to three years haven’t really been replaced with any sort of quality with consistency as far as I see, and that’s a huge blow. Those 5 contributed greatly and none of their replacements have outshone them to date. Lewis Logan-Devlin-mckenna-Lowe Gleason-Shinnie GMS-Wright/Ferguson/Forrester-McGinn Wilson Looks good on paper but time will tell. I think this year we battle with the Edinburgh two for 3rd, and I predict we finish 4th.
  19. Hendry out leaving only two natural central defenders. Devlin should be called up. Our best player so far this season.
  20. You could argue this for the last x years. We failed to invest sufficiently and give the team a chance. The huns spent early enough to advance in Europe, we did not.
  21. So Shinnie makes the Scotland squad and McKenna will make a future squad when fit again. How far away is Devlin? I’d argue he’s been as good if not better than McKenna in the games they played together. Looks an absolute stud so far. And who else is clearly better?
  22. I assume this is meant to mean when we take the lead against (maybe) top 4 teams??
  23. But we saw it last year too. Teams took points off rangers and Celtic and did we take note? I don’t think it’s because we don’t have capable players.
  24. I’d question the length of that list though. It appears (obviously I’m not in the know) he is narrow minded in the market targeting specific nationalities etc and never appears to have much of a depth chart if he doesn’t get his first or second target.
  25. I didn’t see the game and didn’t even need to read all your comments. Expected defensive shit DM tactics like we’re playing Barcelona and then saw we were one up so knew we’d be shit, sitting back trying to hold on. Sound about right??
