I particularly feel sorry for Pars fans having to travel at the time they will have to Not an expert on public transport from Dunfermline to Aberdeen but would imagine that isn't going to work timing wise. It might actually be okay. I reckon public transport from Dunfermline to Aberdeen would be a bit of a dick about anyway, but you can get a bus around 8ish that takes less than three hours. Otherwise a two hour drive. It's easy coast, so it's not an insurmountable time. Nae like Hampden or somewhere that is 3+ hours and often worse on the way back. Quote

In fairness Rico I was merely thinking along the lines that our support face getting to Glasgow for a 12.30 kick off on a Sunday. Hope what you say is correct, the tie deserves a decent away support 1 Quote

Jute Posted January 23 Author Report Posted January 23 Public transport options are not great. Only one train from Edinburgh that arrives at 1147 that Pars fans would need to get to Kirkcaldy to pick up. No direct bus either to Aberdeen from Dunfermline but by changing and walking to Halbeath there is one bus that arrives on time. No train from Glasgow or Inverness line gets you on in time for kick off. Quote

Jute Posted January 23 Author Report Posted January 23 Halbeath is about hours walk from Dunfermline. Do not think there is a bus that gets you there in time for first bus but probably the second. Games should be at times it is easy for fans to travel to not one that requires leaving the house at 6 in the morning. I will probably just head up on Saturday and visit/freeload on in laws and stay over. Quote

The issue here seems to be a public transport one rather than a kick off time one though. The Sunday service at halbeath is reasonable, it's the fact that they've put a park and ride miles away with no joined up bus. It really shouldn't be beyond the wit of Dunfermline to engage with the local bus company and get a bus to the park and ride arranged if needed. However, I expect that most will be travelling by car or supporters bus. Quote
Jute Posted February 9 Author Report Posted February 9 For some reason SFA website has not been up dated to include last of todays ties. So in case you missed it. 1 Quote
Reekie_Red Posted February 9 Report Posted February 9 Despite ref Callum Scott awarding the penalty 2 minutes after extra time was up, and STILL allowing two more corners to be played - I'm surprised he didn't try and head the ball into the net himself. Gotta say the lad Ferrie was absolutely outstanding in goals for Queens Park. And oor Ryan Duncan put in a decent shift too 1 Quote

That it wasn't overturned was even worse. They don't even pretend. Quote

No they don’t. Even the check after the save was them desperately trying to find away to give Tribute Act another chance. Quote

Genuinely thought they were going to play until they equalised, though to be fair to the ref he gave the pen just after 95 minutes were on the clock so I guess the additional time was for all the VAR checks? The commentary went along the lines of it not being a clear and obvious error as to why it wasn't overturned but I've certainly seen worse challenges against us that haven't resulted in a penalty. These types of incident happen all the time. What we were told previously is that if the attacking player isn't getting the ball then it shouldn't be a foul unless it's for violent conduct or some such. Of course, I don't think that is actually written into the rules, just the general advice for refs and VAR officials. The cross was shite, and was squarely on the head of the defender. The Hun would have had to have fouled him to get anywhere near winning that ball. Edit: obviously, they were also given a few extra minutes and a couple of corners after missing the penalty too Edited February 10 by RicoS321 Quote

RicoS321 Posted February 10 Report Posted February 10 Both the Paisley and Perth Saints' pitches are considerably worse than a decent plastic surface just now. Makes a mockery of the decision to ban them, the league should be enforcing standards. Quote
