Didn’t see a thread of this title so figured it was time as he’ll be discussed quite a lot over the season. Thoughts on him so far? I’m not overly impressed, doesn’t appear overly sharp or fit, or mobile in my opinion, but I haven’t seen much of our games to date. At the same time he’s scored 3 so far. I’d assume it would be 1-2 mill to get him on a permanent deal, and that’s significantly more than we paid for miovski. And at the same time, for every miovski there’s a sokler or Ambrose.

is he a penalty taker? That pads out numbers and we’ve yet to get one.

I’ll argue that it was autocorrect. At the same time, I nearly called the thread Scott Nisbet. That would have been worse.

how do we correct this ??

You should be forced to look at it every time you come on the site so that it never happens again, in my opinion.

Scotland return for our boy Kev likely today?

Not sure WTR.

If Clarke is one thing, it is very loyal to his players so not sure there will be a place for Nisbet 🤔

He wouldn't deserve a place ahead of Adams or Dykes, and Conway at 22 edges it because of age. He might be preferred to Shankland I guess, based on form, but probably not. He's not been fit enough to complete 90 minutes, so unless there are injuries in the squad, I don't see it. He's basically in the running for fourth striker spot at the moment, which is really just a player that you think will be available for the qualifiers, with the hope that he might play himself into contention for the tournaments. You don't really have to worry about age so much, so he won't get the nod over Shankland (29) just for being a couple of years younger (Conway is in the up-and-coming bracket, and so is likely one you'd want to keep in the squad for a few years if possible so there is a transition path when Adams and Dykes (28) get past it. If he keeps banging them in, and Shankland doesn't, then the spot will become available.

He didn't get in, despite Conway being injured. There had been chat that Dykes might be injured as well but he's one of three strikers included, which is fair enough.

Aye, didn't realise that Conway was injured. Probably a little unlucky, but think it's an either/or with him and Shankland as they're quite similar. Unlike the Dons, Scotland can manage without four strikers for one spot!

Due a call up tmrw apparently, strangely enough after not being very good on Sunday. Been a wee while since we last had three players in a Scotland squad.

Good pub quiz question that.

I think maybe Russell Anderson, Scott Severin and Lee Miller in 2006?

All three played in a game v Japan that year. Dunno if there was a squad after that where all three got called up, or even a later game all three featured.

I think McKenna, Consi and Ferguson all played together around 2020

Was McKenna not away by the time Considine was in a squad? Could be wrong.

Is there a Scotland website similar to afcheritage? It would be good to look back at whole squads over the years. They'd need a big server to hold the data on all Vogts' caps obviously.

Yeah i think you're right. McKenna moved to Nottingham Forest in the 2020 summer window, but Consis scotland debut was October 2020.

So maybe it was Christie, McLean, Shinnie?

Is correct, McKenna signed for Forest in Sept 2020, as you say Considine made his Scotland debut in the October.

Would Jack, shinnie and McLean have been in a squad together?

If you count Ryan Christie as an Aberdeen player during his time with us, then Christie, Shinnie and McLean were in a squad together.

I'm not sure Shinnie & McLean were in the squad when both Aberdeen players. They were both in the squad for the Peru/Mexico trip (as was Christie) but technically it was the end of the season and both Christie (Celtic) & McLean (Norwich) had only been on loan at Aberdeen. You could count them as Dons players though.
