Sky Sports News' Anthony Joseph suggests we are interested in Maccabi Tel-Aviv centre-back Tyrese Asante.

It’s understood the Dons held talks to sign the 22-year-old last summer while he was at Den Haag, but nothing developed further.

Asante was close to joining Galatasary, before they were gazumped by Maccabi.

The Netherlands U21 international has two-and-a-half years left on his contract, with the club having an option to extend by a further year.

Doesn't appear to be any truth in this rumour

It seems I've not done a roundup of our signings so far this season. Disgraceful.

Mitov - good

Jensen - jury's out

Tobers - good

Dorrington - jury's out

Nilsen - good/jury's out

Palaversa - good

Keskinen - jury's out

Okkels - jury's out

Nisbet - fail

Ambrose - horrendous

I've gone jury's out on many, because I'm feeling generous. They all look like average squad players to me apart from Tobers and Palaversa, who I think will go on to be very good players. Mitov, of course, is good because we knew he was. Keskinen will be one of these lads who suddenly finds out what he's supposed to be doing and will turn out good, but who knows if that will be with us. Overall, I'd say that recruitment has been weak. We're paying out money for players who are just okay. Coupled with the complete imbalance, everything seems a little disjointed. We desperately need someone in to oversee the football operation, and keep Thelin at arm's length. The recruitment guy reeks of a return to the McInnes situation that we've been desperately trying to move away from.

I have a fear that we're going to get a couple of random loans in the next couple of games, in positions we're already covered, and we essentially go with what we've got until the end of the season.

As an aside, I think Jensen is worse than Devlin, but will slowly replace him for the remainder of the season.

This is my concern too. I hate the transfer windows, cos the first thing I do every single morning is go online to see if we've signed anyone yet.

I fear we get no new #9 in, or worse we get some guy who is on his 19th loan club and has scored 3 goals throughout his entire time on loan. I dunno what I fear more, this situation or having to field Nisbet/Ambrose for the rest of the season and genuinely wondering if we will score again

You could just not look?

My biggest fear is that we get another number 9 in, but don't offload any of the others. Thelin seems to want to involve every player in the squad, and I can see him arseing about with a mix of Ambrose, Nisbet and Duk for thirty minutes every game. At present, the volume of options is doing as much harm as the quality. I'd like to see two out, one in, but I'd settle for one out, one in. I think we'll just get the one in. The problem with that is that we never get partnerships built. Nisbet got maybe five minutes with a tiring Gueye yesterday, and I see the exact same thing happening with the replacement.

Sounds like this one has fallen through,or he rejected us,Sky Italy apparently saying it wont happen this window

Still time for a last minute swoop at Forest Green reserves...

Allegedly the issue is the lack of time remaining to get the paperwork of cancelling his existing loan and organising our loan in time before end of window

Kind of guessing he would require a work permit although appreciate it could be resolved post window closure.

Suggestion seems to be we will go back in for him in the summer window.

Wouldn’t disagree with much of this but for me the jury’s very much out on Palaversa. I just don’t see what he’s bringing that is anything above average and he gives the ball away too much for my liking, which might be ok if he was balancing that with stunning assists but we’re not getting those either.

In the bigger picture a manager-led recruitment structure might not be ideal but ever since we ditched McInnes and that apparent model we’ve been utter pap, so I’m not going to complain if that’s the way it is now - as long as it works…

Aye, I'm possibly seeing something in Palaversa that isn't there, but I think he's got something about him. I guess what I'm saying is that he has a higher ceiling than the others. I don't see Keskinen, Okkels or Jensen being worth a few million at any point, or maybe not even seeing out their deals. Palaversa has some very good attributes that could turn him into a quality midfielder.

Yes, ever since McInnes left we've been inconsistent in recruitment, but that's mainly down to Cormack not getting the structure in place. We've still made a few signings that have been good, and wouldn't have ever occurred under McInnes. The biggest problem though, is that when the manager goes, everything else goes with him. We should be able to transition between one and manager and the next with little fuss. On the plus side, we've certainly had a lot of practice.

My biggest frustration with Palaversa is the number of times he gives the ball away. Any pass over 10m is a gamble. Jury’s out on him for me.

Don’t agree the signings have crap since McInnes. We have probably had a slightly above average hit rate and made a fair profit over last few years.

Agree with rest of Rico’s assessments other than Ambrose. I don’t think he has been that good.

Nisbet is biggest disappointment for me. Thought as long as we got him fit he would score goals for us but it’s just not worked for whatever reason. Part of it is lack of supply/him not fitting the style of play. He kept coming deep yesterday to get the ball and not mobile enough to then get into the box. Even when he did Ambrose was usually in his way.

Palestinian striker Oday Dabbagh looks like being our new striker. Loan with option to buy from Charleroi. Not a great scoring record in Belgium but has also played in Portuguese top league with a slightly better record.

Big Angus off to Exeter to play for Gary Caldwell.

When we first got Palaversa I thought he'd be our hard-man in MF, turns out he is as hard as a bowl full of rich-tea biscuits mixed with milk.

As regards Nisbet I don't think it's anything to do with service - yesterday, he was played in down our left-hand channel, he was ahead of the chasing CB so he needs to get a good first touch, see who is bombing into the area and hit a decent cross, instead he goes for a half-volley which balloons over the bar...then he holds his hand up to say "Sorry that was meant for you" to anyone of our 20' strikers (obviously the last word should be in quotes). He's just a waste of a wage, giving Alfie Bavidge/Fletcher Boyd the same minutes would be much more worth while as they'd at least be trying and willing to learn and, maybe, even troubling the scorers.

Boyd’s lack of game time has been puzzling to say the least. Looked decent when he got on last season but not been given any time this season which cannot be helping his development. If there is no intention of giving him game time here surely we should have put him out on loan to get him game time.

He looked nowhere near ready for the first team, despite his goals. Very lightweight. To the extent that I'm not even sure he'd even benefit from a loan. One for next season I expect.

"Very lightweight"...he'd fit right into our midfield, then😆

Still think he would be a better option for the 10 to 15 minutes at the end of games that Ambrose gets. Admittedly a traffic cone is probably a better option than Ambrose. Boyd does look lightweight but he did last season and still managed to score. I would like to have seen him played or put on loan to league 2 side at least.
