Funny how crowds have gone up,not only us,but across the board in Scotland, when competition in the top league is less than back then Is that because back in 80s it was actual attendance that was counted where as now it’s tickets sold including season ticket holders who haven’t attended? Elgindon Posted October 25 Report Posted October 25 (edited) Possibly, but even going by punters in the ground,I'd say its more nowadays. As i edited above there was only 8000 for our first home game after we won the league in 1980.Imagine if we won it now.... Edit - Nah we played Utd in the first home game - 13'000,Morton a few weeks later in front of 9'600(AFC Heritage) Edited October 25 by Elgindon Quote

I don't turn up to Pittodrie expecting to have a smile on my face. Thelin needs to stop all this relentless positivity. With the seagulls less erratic after their babies have left the nest, there's a real lack of things to complain about. Quote

tlg1903 Posted October 26 Report Posted October 26 Starting to get the fear for this one . Goodwin would fucking love to end our unbeaten run Quote
OrlandoDon Posted October 26 Report Posted October 26 Thinking this will be a fiesty one. We have two center mids who like a fight and booking, going to need discipline today. We’ve seen adversity going two down last week and responding, think we come out well fired up. JT has done an excellent job at preaching one game at a time and staying humble, and the players really have bought in. I still believe it’s a win today, full house roaring us on, and especially if we get an early goal, I think it’s a good performance. changing my prediction, 3-1. Nisbet, topi, and duk. Quote
Panda Posted October 26 Author Report Posted October 26 (edited) Palaversa, Duk and Sokler all start, Shinnie & Clarkson on bench, Nisbet misses out. Dons social media fella hasn't got the memo yet that you need 20/20 vision to read those subs. Edited October 26 by Panda Quote
Panda Posted October 26 Author Report Posted October 26 My worry there is Sokler's lack of goal threat (I know he scored last week). Hopefully an early goal to settle the nerves (mine). Quote
OrlandoDon Posted October 26 Report Posted October 26 (edited) Given JTs comments yesterday I’d assume both injuries and the rangers game are a factor in that line up. As much as I’m a shinnie fan, intrigued and eager to see palaversa play, plus I also think duk creates attention that will give sokler some more space. I also think it’s fair to say these injuries make us a little different, but don’t make us weaker. Bit of depth in our squad. 3-1, sokler duk and topi! Edited October 26 by OrlandoDon Quote
redordead Posted October 26 Report Posted October 26 Loving this line up. Looking forward to this. Quote
redordead Posted October 26 Report Posted October 26 Topi literally just running into folk like he's in the playground in that half. On top but not getting the best out of the pace so far. McGrath sitting too deep and facing the pass. Needs to get on the turn in the gap if we're going to utilise sokler No real grumbles except for the decision making at times Quote
Elgindon Posted October 26 Report Posted October 26 A bit frustrating so far,too often, passes not reaching the target, players running into dead ends.Utd been dangerous on the break, but not really had concrete opportunities.Surely improve second half. Quote
OrlandoDon Posted October 26 Report Posted October 26 Duk showing he’s an impact sub. Not the right lineup and with nisbet injured expect an Ambrose sighting in second half. Odds on him scoring the winner?? id switch palaversa for shinnie, shins drives forward. Clarkson to be creative and McGrath back to the left. 1 Quote
manc_don Posted October 26 Report Posted October 26 We needed a change at half time, hopefully it brings the change in luck up top we need. They’ve sat very deep (as expected) and not giving us any space. Duks being marked out the game, which is easy to do when you out two on him the whole time. Very tight game so far. Quote
BigAl Posted October 26 Report Posted October 26 Nae fucking about lads Game in the 90th minute, nothing announced on Red TV but Shady Mo top man in my opinion 1 Quote
OrlandoDon Posted October 26 Report Posted October 26 Ambrose is quality. Can’t believe he doesn’t play more! 3 Quote
redordead Posted October 26 Report Posted October 26 The brilliant thing about this season so far is that I've always felt that we haven't quite clicked yet. When we do it'll be epic. Great result on a wet horrible night. Good teams win when they don't play well and we're getting good at it . Bring on the currants!! Quote

Duk showing he’s the impact sub like Morris. Did little. When you bring him on when opponents are tired or on bookings it’s different. Fatigue, mental mistakes etc benefit duk. He’s also not the smartest, much like Morris, and should do the simple things in the attacking half. Quote

I don’t think we play really well. We dominated today but our attacking play wasn’t great and we really didn’t create much. JT can do no wrong, injuries and not just rangers but Celtic next weekend were I’m sure a factor in the line up and subbing. Using the squad and Vinny, Morris, Ambrose, and shinnie were all a factor today. Fully expect McGrath left and clarkson at 10, plus shinnie against rangers, and nisbet too if fit. Only question is if shady starts. I’d say no, he’s an impact sub. interesting we get our first pen of the year and Vinny goes to take it. I’m assuming it would be McGrath or sokler, maybe nisbet, if they are on the field?? Quote

OrlandoDon Posted October 26 Report Posted October 26 Not sure if we were good or they were disappointing as they offered very little in attack. A very dons like performance of the past from them when we played the old firm. I expected more from them since we are not overly strong defensively and have given away poor goals. I thought they’d try to win the game. First half they offered a little on the counter, all us second half. Really intrigued by Wednesday now, don’t care what rangers do tomorrow, they are there to be beaten and I expect JT to approach it that way. Quote
