This is the longest delay I've ever known for a tribunal to determine a transfer fee. It will be hard for him to get a career ending injury if he doesn't play though...... 1 3 Quote

At 3-0 down, he'll receive a second booking for kicking the ball away. As he walks off, he slips in the steadily forming puddle of his manager's tears, landing on a water bottle which ruptures his bum crack*, putting him out of action for six years. As he lies on the ground, Rubi commandeers the phone of a willing spectator in order to take a thumbs up selfie in the foreground of the injured Hun. The image goes viral. *I'm not a medical professional Edited October 29 by RicoS321 1 5 Quote
Panda Posted October 30 Report Posted October 30 Agree Nisbet probably only going to be fit enough for the bench. Think Duk, Morris and even Vinnie all made a case to start, but I'd stick with Keskinen and Clarkson. Palaversa likely be needed off the bench when Beaton gives Nilsen and Shinnie their final warnings while ignoring similar challenges from the other side. Dons to score early but hang on in a nervy affair. 1 Quote
manc_don Posted October 30 Author Report Posted October 30 Would be happy with that lineup. Let’s get right fucking into them! Quote

Buzzing for tonight. HEED FIRST!!! He's not done too much, but a lot of that is down to personnel and tactics, which I think JT will recognise. He played with Nisbet in the first half against the Tims, when they were playing a high back line with space in behind. Clarkson thrives on that opposition setup, but it needs a striker playing on the shoulder. Clarkson would equally have been looking to play Sokler in, as McGrath did, and is perfectly capable of making that pass. Him and Nisbet against a high line isn't the right call. Him and Sokler, if the Huns play high, is a good way to get a goal. I think a lot will depend on how he sees the Huns setting up. It'll also depend on whether Duk starts, or if he feels he'll be more useful from the bench. I think that @Panda's suggested lineup is a good shout. It has the right blend of keeping it tight and being quick on the break. I'd be sorely tempted to play Nilsen, Palaversa and Shinnie and press the shite out of them if it's Nisbet up front. Quote
manc_don Posted October 30 Author Report Posted October 30 Slept like shite, too nervous for the game. Can’t wait for it. Quote
RicoS321 Posted October 30 Report Posted October 30 Note to self: check kick off time before leaving the house. Too early to go in, not early enough for a pint. Since when did Wednesday night games not kick off at 19:45? Anyway, decent team. Only disappointment is no Duk off the bench if we need him. Guess we'll have to cope with a hattrick before he goes off in the sixtieth minute. Another one of those freekicks he scored against them a while back would be fine. Quote
OrlandoDon Posted October 30 Report Posted October 30 Duk starts, clarkson on the bench. I assume McGrath at 10 with duk on the left. Topi right, shady coming on second half to grab a goal and an assist! 1 Quote
redordead Posted October 30 Report Posted October 30 Should be three up. Ref is a fucking disgrace. That tackle on sokler wipes him out and the ball touches the defender as ester lifts it past him. OUTRAGEOUS!! McGraths arse crashed and I've got a horrible feeling that we are going to let them into this. Quote
OrlandoDon Posted October 30 Report Posted October 30 Absolutely battered them. That’s a lot of effort in the first half. Don’t expect them to be as shit second half. Definite red card as sokler was through. Awful penalty. Interesting second half ahead. Quote
OrlandoDon Posted October 30 Report Posted October 30 Shaky first 20 mins of the second half but fucking deserved. First half outstanding. Proud dandy!!! Quote
redordead Posted October 30 Report Posted October 30 One of the best displays against them in years. Better team by a mile. Deserved to win by more. We're going through a spell to remember people. Quote
RicoS321 Posted October 30 Report Posted October 30 Well that was fun. I've not seen us slaughter a Hun team the way we did in the first half in a long time. If McGrath hadn't shat it (although pens for that sort of thing is a total nonsense) then I think we'd have gone on to score more before halftime. That penalty miss fairly rocked us and we switched off for their only chance of the half, the disallowed goal. They switched tactics, which had us under a lot of pressure, and we should have made the changes earlier before they got the chance to score. When we scored the second, there was only one winner and they offered nothing. Nicky Devlin was absolutely immense, but the whole squad was tonight. I've not seen a Hun team that shite for a long time. None of their players would get in our team. Quote
redordead Posted October 30 Report Posted October 30 I can't remember who suggested it earlier in the season but surely Hooked on a thelin, I've started believing, the dons can win the league has to be a chant now Quote
OrlandoDon Posted October 31 Report Posted October 31 (edited) Stunned at how bad a penalty. Would have preferred sokler to take it to be fair, he has the fight and temperament that I think he’d smash it in. at 1-1 I was pretty crushed given how good we were in the first half. But credit due, yet again we found a way. I’ve always believed in Morris too, up there with Ambrose in terms of quality! To be fair to him, thriving as an impact sub, let’s not get carried away and start him! Well done to the lad, nice to see we have players on the bench that can change games for the better when we need them. lastly, shout out to Molloy, very solid game. Ruby too. Molloy is a young lad but certainly has a calmness and a good partner for ruby. A consistent back 4 with sivert in front, hopefully they continue to grow together and improve. manc_don Posted October 31 Author Report Posted October 31 That first half was unreal. I don't think I've ever seen us play like that. The pen miss was the obvious downside and really seemed to take the wind out of our sails. But prior to that, it was proper steam roller stuff! What a redemption arc for Morris btw. Fuck me. The guy is brimming with confidence and that finish could easily have been scuffed but he nailed it. Consistently looked dangerous and had them on the ropes. Thought topi again wasn't at it and wanted Morris on sooner, but the duk injury changed his thinking. Overall, we definitely deserved the win. We made it harder than necessary but got the job done and that's the main thing. Onto the weekend! Quote

His best game for us I thought. 8 minutes ago, OrlandoDon said: Stunned at how bad a penalty. He never missed one for St Mirren. It was probably the worst pen Ive ever seen though. I think what happened is that he tried to send the keeper the wrong way, but realised just as he was about to kick it that the keeper had gone the way he was hitting it and tried to pull out of it and redirect. He seemed to slow down just as he was making contact. From memory, he used to place them with power. Fuck knows what he was playing at. Also the sitter he missed too. His freekick was class though, and the keeper wasn't getting it. Quote
tlg1903 Posted October 31 Report Posted October 31 Firstly Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaas! Fucking have it you hun scum! Secondly, let's lay off mcgrath, sometimes this happens in football and such is life. I very much agree we would have probably scored a third before half time if it had gone in though but we still won and we deserved too. They are never clawing back 9 points on us and they know it. Reekie_Red Posted October 31 Report Posted October 31 I dunno what's better about this video. Watching Kiss Boys going absolutely mental at the Huns, Sutton trying his best not to piss himself with laughter, Or Joe Joe Super Joe just sitting there basking in the glory of yet another victory for the reds: 1 Quote

Don’t see anyone having a go at him, he’s been excellent this season. But it was an awful penalty! tremendous win, most bizarre interview from clement afterwards, he felt it was one of their better games and didn’t deserve to lose. First half we absolutely hammered them. Hope he stays though, he is not making any progress with that squad. also nice to see hearts new manager bounce has lost its elasticity. October was the month that challenged us, and would really tell us and everyone if we were legit. damn we’ve come through it well. saturday is a free hit. We got to see what they were like and while they are good, it’s winnable. Quote
