Obviously not the only criminals, but there is no way they should be starting for the club. Why? There are hundreds of players that don't sign new contracts with us. You can't just stop playing them. That'd be wild. Especially when both have been excellent this season. Quote
Jute Posted December 26, 2024 Report Posted December 26, 2024 McKenzie is still coming back from injury and not been as good as he was before it but needs a bit of time. McGrath was poor today but players who came on were not any better. Quote

True, but McGrath should have been dropped over a month ago, as I said, shite since the pen miss so that’s still giving him a few weeks grace. It was inexplicable that he was spared instead of Keskinen today or Clarkson the other. Mackenzie was suspect prior to his injury and given his lack of deal signing, I’d cast him off. Neither are playing their best for us now but we desperately need to sign an alternative at LB. Granted the whole defence is a shambles at the moment, but we’ve had players excel despite that fact previously, would appear that he’s just not wanting to. Not many seem to be busting a gut in this team anymore. I know this is more of a heart vs head moment, but with the team needing a backs to the wall scenario, not sure we can afford to have passengers going through the motions? Obviously if Mackenzie signs, then he’s god etc… Quote
Jute Posted December 27, 2024 Report Posted December 27, 2024 Would disagree on Mackenzie. He and Devlin were our most consistent players prior to MacKenzie’s injury. The MacKenzie’s shite chat only started when it became clear he was leaving and not on back of poor performances. 1 Quote

I’ve personally said it elsewhere long prior to any hun chat was losing the ball far more than he was earlier in the season. I wouldn’t dare say a bad word against Devlin, he’s run through the wringer and the evidence is in his drop in form. The guy is knackered. Quote
Jute Posted December 27, 2024 Report Posted December 27, 2024 Just brought myself to watch highlights and McDonald looks even worse than he did at the game. Rubi was not much better. Hope this Latvian is decent. Devlin looks like he is playing injured as he wasn’t as good as he has and most of Killie’s good play came from his side. Not helped by Duk or Morris not bothering to track back admittedly but not his usual self. However main issue seems to be teams have figured out our plan A and at the moment we do not have a plan B. I've wondered that for a while. Ournsuccessful period was largely based on having the likes of Keskinen tired the opposition for 46 minutes, then we'd sub him for Morris who would use his freshness to cut past the defence and set up Duk, Gueye, Sokler or Nisbet. I was surprised it took 11 games for the other Premiership managers to figure it out. But it and the zonal marking tactic seem to be what JT worked the team so hard on in the summer. Shinnie said it himself it took them a fair bit of effort to learn this different tactic. So now that the other teams have figured this out, JT needs to embed an additional tactic when this one is sussed out on the day. Hopefully this is part of his 3 yr plan, to embed a series of different tactics that can be deployed like second-nature. Quote
