Panda Posted January 29 Report Posted January 29 (edited) The last time I posted on here we were undefeated in the league and about to rule the land. It's like I've woken from a coma to anarchy. Thought I better log back on and start the match thread to get the team back to winning ways again. Enough of this bloody nonsense. Despite his critics I'd start Duk, he still looks the most difficult to handle when he's on it. Nisbet okay until he gets to the six-yard box, which is unfortunate since that's where he's supposed to be good. Keskinen had a lot of joy last time v Hibs on the left so I'd start him again. Gueye/Clarkson/Okkels. All funny ones. Is Gueye a striker, a number 10, or even at his best when he cuts in off the left? What is Clarkson - he seems to drift to the left now and neither plays as a winger, No.10 or a sitting midfielder. Okkels, not seen enough of him yet to know how we should use him. I suspect he's meant to be a goal threat off the wing considering he was a consistent goal scorer at Elfsborg. Rubezic - be interesting to see what Thelin does. Take him out of the firing line, or convince him the best way to bounce back is to get out there and face his fears. Either way, unless injured, surely he's in the squad because we're not exactly blessed with defensive cover at the moment. But personally, unless Dorrington has looked gash in training and Ange has sold us a pup, I'd start him. Edited January 29 by Panda Quote

If so, you might not remember this, but just before your last post, you agreed to give me £10,000 as a thank you for all my great posts over the years. It'd be nice to get the funds before the end of the window, thanks. 2 Quote

In that case, the username retains the posting history, but the person now owning it is not liable for any debts. 1 1 Quote
Jute Posted January 29 Report Posted January 29 Sold out the bottom deck apparently so shit run has not driven everyone away yet. Was hopping we would have a striker in by now but looking less likely we will get anyone in. Hopefully MacKenzie back so we can get him back in to left back and move Jensen into right back to rest Devlin who has looked knackered for last few weeks. Rubi is a difficult one. I don’t think it will do him any good if he is dropped but at the same time I am not sure exposing him to a support who were booing his every touch last week will do him much good either. As for Dorrington on the limited viewing of him I can see why Spurs didn’t play him even when he was one of only two fit centre backs on their books. Don’t think he looks anywhere near ready for games at our level let alone EPl. For that reason alone think we have to go with Rubi. Midfield I would go with one of Shinnie or Nilsen not both. Palaversa in with one of them with Clarkson in fromt of them. I would be tempted to switch Okkels and Keskinen round and have Keskinen on the left where he has played his best stuff for us. Okkels has looked very righted footed for a left winger and would like to see him on the right. Up front any one from Gueye, Duk or Nisbet and hope something works. In flat then 60 second stroll to ground away end 60 second stroll back to flat. 1-2 Clarkson and Okkels. Quote
manc_don Posted Thursday at 23:47 Report Posted Thursday at 23:47 It would be fitting if we could do to them what they did to us when we were down there. Really was a sliding doors moment. I saw that we were 25 points clear of them at the point of the last fixture and they have chance to go within 2 of us. Truly depressing stuff! Anyway, I'm not overly optimistic for this one, as nothing seems to be working out for us, but as Panda says, it'll be interesting to see what Thelin does about Rubi, if he does return, just hope the boo boys lay off him. Of course that does require a good positive performance from him. Out Bed Bed Journey back home 2-0 hibs, no dons scorer Quote
Reekie_Red Posted Friday at 07:15 Report Posted Friday at 07:15 Depends what happens with Rubi if he returns. St Mirren targeted him as the real point in the team and took total advantage. Hard to deny that if he plays vs Hibs, Gray will have his team target Rubi again Quote
wokinginashearerwonderland Posted Friday at 09:03 Report Posted Friday at 09:03 Might be an old school POV but Rubezic should be nowhere near the team sheet nor the subs bench after asking to come off last week. The ship is sinking fast enough as it is without including players that are not up for the fight. Quote
OrlandoDon Posted Saturday at 03:19 Report Posted Saturday at 03:19 Absolutely no clue what to expect. Would really like to see gueye ahead of shinnie and palaversa, with nisbet at 9. actually think with gueye mobile around him and nisbet being purely a penalty box player, they could potentially work well together. Also eager to see okkels, I thought he showed some really nice touches at times last week. Think Topi is due a break and a goal too. 2-1 us, topi and gueye. 2 Quote

RicoS321 Posted Saturday at 13:48 Report Posted Saturday at 13:48 Dorrington and Tobers makes sense. Shinnie and Palaversa also. Would like to have seen MacKenzie back in. Gueye as the main striker again. I think I'd like to have seen him alongside Nisbet. The problem is that by the time we bring Nisbet on, it'll likely only be another 5-10 minutes until Gueye comes off. That's no time to build a partnership. Quote
Jute Posted Saturday at 14:00 Report Posted Saturday at 14:00 Assuming Jensen at left back then was really hoping Mackenzie would be back at left back to give us at least one left footed defender on the field. Quote
OrlandoDon Posted Saturday at 14:11 Report Posted Saturday at 14:11 I’d say it’s our best 11 at present. If Mackenzie sorts himself out then he comes back in, mitov when healthy, and gueye slides to 10 when we sign a legit center forward. At half time would like to see Jensen move to right and Mackenzie given a run. Devlin hasn’t attacked nearly as much of late, I think he’s running on empty. COYR! Quote
redordead Posted Saturday at 15:47 Report Posted Saturday at 15:47 We look totally sterile. Moving the ball but gaining nothing. Two passes forward then a twenty yard pass back. Quote

Two passes forward then a twenty yard pass back. Agreed, it's not been great. Plenty of nice quick passing at times, but that lasts five passes and then it gets played behind someone or slowed down. Right footers on the left lead to that, despite them all playing okay. Gueye and Clarkson isn't working, Gueye especially been poor. Keskinen been terrible too. I'd take Nisbet on for Clarkson and Morris for Keskinen. Quote
RicoS321 Posted Saturday at 16:17 Report Posted Saturday at 16:17 We are absolutely honking. Why are they dicking about with the subs? Quote
redordead Posted Saturday at 16:19 Report Posted Saturday at 16:19 Why can shinnie not pass a ball that isn't three feet behind the runner Quote
