So what’s nisbet worth and can we afford/are we buying him? Finally fit and settled, plus build a team to play to his strengths?

He has a year left on his contract, so don't think Millwall can demand the reported £2m they paid for him, but they'll expect something significant for him. I think we'll be looking at somewhere between £500k-£800k.

This is why it's important we get the European spot because the money allows us to make those transfers.

I’m thinking they’d expect 1-1.5m, maybe we use the okkels funds. Im not a big nisbet fan but for every miovski there’s an Ambrose, Sokler is a squad player, as is dabbagh by the looks of things. Nisbet can produce for us.

£1.5m would be a lot to ask for a guy who, over the past two seasons, has had just a handful of good games (and while he's on form now, his season overall is still below average).

He hasn't proved himself in the English Championship so few clubs there with big cheque books would be in for him.

Okkels is reportedly £1m but he still has two years on his deal. Even then, Preston might have to take a hit on him.

If we offered £500k and add ons if Nisbet becomes a regular in the Scotland squad, I say that's very fair.

Wouldn't be totally outrageous. The problem we have is that other clubs would definitely fancy him at that price range, and I don't think he'd be too loyal to the Dons when it comes down to it.

Which is exactly my point mate PLUS Nisbet has potentially raised his stock so Millwall won't be selling him to anyone for £500k

I don't think there's any way back for him at Millwall to be honest, or anywhere down South, I reckon they'll be cashing in at a significant loss. I don't think we'll get him for £500K either, but £750K I don't think would be unreasonable. I think the player himself will be the biggest sticking point. If he wants to stay then he'll probably try and negotiate his way out of his Millwall contract. I don't think he'll feel any particular loyalty to us though and will take who is paying the highest.

Not so sure about that last sentence, from his first Interview I've felt Nisbet genuinely has some affection for the Dons and I think that will have grown.  I also think he is very career focused now, he was talking in his last RTV interview about how much better he is looking after himself,  and playing for Aberdeen got him back in the Scotland squad.  I think he will want to stay unless a better career opportunity (and I've no idea what that looks like btw but I know it ain't Millwall) comes up not a salary 2bh.  

If we could get him for 750 k that would be a bargain I would say.  He's only just turned 28 and we could easily get 4 good seasons out of him..... probably more given he's never been a player that has relied on pace.

Bit expensive just to replace MacKenzie on the bench behind Shinnie IMO. 

I reckon he'll head down south, but I think he's about our level and would do a lot worse than signing for us. It would be a question of wages though, he could probably still command a decent salary in the championship and be a bit-part player in the hoofer league.

He’s not be coming here to be shinnie’s back up. Not sure shinnie has a full season of attacking left back in him. Thought about Greg Taylor too, a bit like when mcginn came to us perhaps. Wouldn’t rule it out but I suspect he’ll go south for more money.

It was tongue in cheek, he's a better fullback than Shinnie. I think he'll feel he can get at least a year of higher earnings before returning to Scotland. In my opinion, if he goes abroad, he'll get a few good years. He'll get chewed up in the English lower leagues and be back in a year.
