Agreed. Gueye, Nisbet, Dabbagh, Okkels and Sokler aren't the answers we need upfront. When Keskinen and Morris get going they remind me of Hayes & Mcginn circa 2013-ish. But we haven't got sufficient replacements for them. The res tof our midfield and defence looks good now. Not brilliant, but notnin need of surgery like upfront.

Problem is Dabbagh has Miovski's shoes to fill, and Miovski was so much more than just his goals.

Ha, I wouldn’t go that far! Hayes and mcginn were in their mid 20s and proven players, and close to the two best wingers in the league, topi and morris still young and inconsistent. But both have shown enough to stay, and that’s a reversal of opinion on Morris for me. He’s so quick and learning how to use his pace, whereas topi has pace and physicality and is suited to our league. Given their youth, I’d like us to sign a legit proven winger and it’s two from those three weekly.

we have a very bloated squad of average players, a bunch need to be moved on and a good few coming in this summer.

Hearts have released a statement about Devlin’s sending off:

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Fucking, fuck sake, that is tragic. @Panda do the BBC do individual stats for players on fouls committed? I'd be interested to know how many Devlin made. Obviously, we'd have to add one for the foul he committed on Knoester that Knoester got booked for. That's embarrassing from Hearts though. It was a late challenge, with force, which is open to interpretation - it was a careless challenge to make on a booking. You can't be releasing a statement based on a mildly dubious yellow, you've got to be saving those for the big ones. Fucking bitterness. Pathetic. Even if you don't agree with the yellow, necessarily, there's not a person who can't say that they couldn't see why the ref might choose to award it. It's pathetic shite like this that got us the tedious fucking crap that is VAR (yes, I did hesitate before celebrating Dabbagh's winner. Yes, I did sit through that fucking nonsense after our first goal, utterly clueless as to why a corner could be offside). How long before second yellows are drawn into its fucking awful remit? Just fuck off, you Jambo cunts.

There’s no limit in how far they’ll go to try and emulate their cousins along the M8. This one’s right up there with the best Rangers have come up with over the years.

Season ticket renewals must be slow

Deflecting from their bottom six shiteness and their horrifically put together squad.

That was absolutely my first thought. Clear as day. Highly embarrassing.

Usually we get Opta stats, but they only do the Premiership, not the Cup (maybe they'll do the final). But I did google it earlier and read that Devlin committed the most fouls in the game, but it was only four (which was lower than I thought) but like you say wouldn't have included him grabbing Knoester's collar and hauling him away (which Knoester got booked for while Beaton gave Devlin his last chance), and also earlier when he and (I think) Jensen had a pushing and shoving match in the first half.

Utterly pointless stat.

Hearts are the designated home team for the semi, and they don't usually allow maroon & red to be worn together (even though they likely wouldn't clash), so safe to say we'll be in either the black & gold, or the granite strip.

Aberdeen have - at least as far as I am aware - never won a semi-final at Hampden wearing their away strip.

1994 SC semi: Drew 1-1 with Dundee United at Hampden (conceded last minute). In the replay, this time we were back in the red while United wore their away strip, but we lost 1-0.

1996 SC semi: Lost 2-1 to Hearts (both teams wore away strips).

2008 LC semi: Lost 4-1 to Dundee United (was at Tynecastle rather than Hampden).

2018 SC semi: Lost 3-0 to Motherwell at Hampden wearing a blue kit.

So the question is, have we ever won a semi (or final) at Hampden wearing an away strip?

It should be said - we have won at least one semi-final in an away strip. In 1947 we beat Hearts at Easter Road in the League Cup semi, while wearing an unusual blue top with white sleeves.

Update: Aberdeen have now won at Hampden wearing their away strip.

I'm guessing it wouldn't have included his booking either, because that wasn't given as a foul. The most telling aspect was that the player himself knew he was getting booked. He was doing that pretending to be injured shite, whilst sneakily glancing up at the ref. When he saw Beaton just standing there ready to book him, he just got up.

The worst part about Hearts' statement is the petty dig at the Dons, with the 118th minute shit.

Jury is still out for me on Oday on game time alone.  I do think he has shown a decent touch at times and he's got the right place right time instinct but I'm far from convinced he's worth spending big on.   That could change in the next 6 games 2bf, he's been at the club a few months now and should be a bit more settled so let's how he does.

I would absolutely keep Nisbet and will be disappointed if we don't try to but mostly agree on Okkels, Sokler and Gueye being moved on.

I think Beaton had already said to Devlin "one more and you're off".  He certainly seemed to give him an explanation before the second yellow and it seems telling there was no protest from Devlin at all when the card was shown
