Scottish Cup final: Aberdeen v Celtic - 24/05

I'll be in a minority that's glad it's Celtic we're playing in the final. 

The 2017 final still rankles. We should have done it that day. Shay Logan standing off Stuart Armstrong and letting him hit that equaliser in a half when Celtic offered little. The Jonny Hayes - Kenny McLean mix up that should have given us a second (and to this day I still don't know who to blame). 

Beat them on 24 May, win the cup, end a 35-year wait, and do it against a seemingly unstoppable side going for yet another treble. It would be beautiful and would finally put 2017 to bed.

I don't actually think we'll sell 21,000. Too many just can't be arsed with what they think (wrongly) will be another defeat to Celtic. So 19,000 probably would do us.

However, it's important that Aberdeen fight for half of the North stand. The way the noise projects around Hampden, you can barely hear the fans behind the goal when you're at the other end. Give us half the north, the west stand, and the lower deck of the south. That's about 19,000 tickets - if we sell out, then give us the rest.

That's the first fight we need to win long before we get to Hampden.

Fuck that West Stand is better for pubs and public transport. I am one of those who will look at cost of tickets and our record against the financially doped Victims and decide on a day in the pub.

Aye, but it's principle. We need to kick up a fuss about it, whilst knowing that the west stand is fine.

I reckon they’ll start with a potential 50/50 split but pretty quickly claw “our” tickets back for them when it’s clear we won’t sell out (which we won’t).

I’ll be there and i’ll be taking my eldest because imagine winning and not being there… and she’s now the age I was the last time we did win it (and I wasn’t there that time) so no option but to go really. She also enjoyed yesterday and, strangely, the league cup semi as well so potential defeat won’t put her off.

Honestly Jute, the number of times you say things like this and then cave when the horizon comes a bit closer. Not having a pop at you buddy, it just always makes me chuckle when you take this stance.

Oh dear lord.  The principle of this is fine, and I was going to wear red anyway, but I can just see some of their members turning into the colours police and getting arsey with folks that decline this invitation.  To me they defo have a a subsection that has a  "we're better fans than thou" kinda attitude and those folks can go fuck themselves quite frankly.

You are usually right to suspect my lack of will power but on this occasion when it’s a mixture of likely defeat and massively overpriced tickets I usually don’t go. Didn’t attend last league cup final due to ticket price and suspect it will be at least £40 ticket this time again. Not paying that to watch Scottish football.
