SeeBass Posted April 25, 2008 Report Posted April 25, 2008 I`ve been thinking a lot about my first real Euro adventure and have started writing a short story about it. OK we only made the Last 32 but the 'quality opposition' which came to Pittodrie and didn`t beat us on our own patch surprised me. Why? Because back in the 90`s we ended up on the wrong side of some embarrassing scorelines against in my opinion pretty shocking teams whilst at home. Skonto Riga, Zalgris Vilnius, Bohemians to name just a few. Should even have had the beating of Torino as I wasn`t that impressed by them either. So do we just have a better calibre of player at the club now than when in the doldrums many moons ago? Take Care! SeeBass Quote
El Padre™ Posted April 25, 2008 Report Posted April 25, 2008 We've just taken that old European form and put it into the Scottish cup. Quote
baggy89 Posted April 25, 2008 Report Posted April 25, 2008 We'll be able to relive those great nights now that were buying back the crap from that era (allegedly). Quote

SeeBass Torino made the final in 1994, if I recall correctly, so they weren't that bad. they did have Carbone and Silenzi, who were shit hot at the time. Quote

Guest ally s Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 Torino went out in the next round to Arsenal who went on to win the CWC. 2-0 up in the 1st leg and blew it by losing 3-2. The 2nd leg was a fantastic atmosphere if I remember correctly, again we were winning 1-0, Rico screamer, only to lose the match 2-1. Quote
