Dandy_Don Posted April 28, 2008 Report Posted April 28, 2008 From Evening Express: ABERDEEN defender Zander Diamond is suspended for the next two matches. The centre back will miss the clashes with Dundee United and Motherwell after an accumulation of bookings. Diamond’s absence, coupled with Lee Mair’s injury, could create a chance for Dutchman Karim Touzani to partner Andrew Considine at the heart of the defence for the next two matches. Quote
capitalsharpie Posted April 28, 2008 Report Posted April 28, 2008 Goodie. More defensive changes as we enter important fixrures. Quote
Ajja Posted April 28, 2008 Report Posted April 28, 2008 Forgot all about that one from the Celtic game Ach well, I was able to remain optimistic for at least 36 hours Quote
Superstar Tradesman Posted April 28, 2008 Report Posted April 28, 2008 Well at least we know they've played that defensive combination at least once before. Quote

Cowie Posted April 28, 2008 Report Posted April 28, 2008 As long as Touzani doesn't get injured..... I reckon he'll be OK at CB - although the last thing we want to do is start shuffling the back 4 again Quote
KGB Posted April 28, 2008 Report Posted April 28, 2008 Please God, don't put Duff at Centre half. Quote
Cowie Posted April 28, 2008 Report Posted April 28, 2008 Or Severin gets shunted back & duff goes into the midfield... Wasn't there, but apparently Duff played well on Saturday, personally not convinced though. - Still reckon Touzani is a better player though Quote

Touzani played against Motherwell at the back and he was too slow got taken off at half time. Quote
Superstar Tradesman Posted April 29, 2008 Report Posted April 29, 2008 Wasn't convinced by Seve at the back when he was playing well so I'm even less inclined to move him there now. Chances are I won't be paying attention though. I'm still sulking. Quote
Guest bloo_toon_red Posted April 29, 2008 Report Posted April 29, 2008 Given Zander's blunder on Saturday to gift Hibs their goal, I don't particularly think this is a bad thing. I despair at how immune he seems to be from criticism. Quote

But we all know it will be Duff in the middle. Quote

But I wonder if we can "do an Old Firm" and contest this decision so that the suspension gets delayed until we've gone past these forthcoming important matches. Quote
sheep_shagger Posted April 29, 2008 Report Posted April 29, 2008 Zander was at fault for the goal on Saturday and from the highlights was a bit shaky at times against Celtic. Would play Seve at the back and Walker alongside Duff in the midfield for Saturday. Quote
Cowie Posted April 29, 2008 Report Posted April 29, 2008 Had forgotten about walker....Although he had a mair against DU in the semi...the whole team did. Something along the lines of this would suit: ------------------Langfield------------------- --Maybury---Severin---Considine----Foster-- ---Young---Walker---Nicholson---De Visscher-- -------------Mackie--------------------- -------------------Miller----------------- Subs:Soutar, Lovell, Bus, Duff, Touzani, Maguire, +1 other..
