baggy89 Posted February 20, 2019 Report Posted February 20, 2019 Friday is pretty eclectic Gerry stuck in with various grime rap and pop. Saturday the headliner doesn't exactly capture the imagination, actually none of them do. Sunday every one of them is a second stage act and most boring to boot. They're looking for strong money for little more than average arena bands at a festival where you've also to sort hotels. Cynic in me says the ones they know folk will buy tickets for (Gerry, Ashcroft and Grennan) are all on separate days to make sure they sell weekend tickets. Make Saturday. Ashcroft, Catfish, Gerry, Grennan, Fender, DMA's and Jade Bird. Call it the Radio X all dayer Quote
minijc Posted February 21, 2019 Report Posted February 21, 2019 It's a horrendous line up, shows how out of touch some festival bookers are with the acts that get stage time. There's about 6 acts there I'd happily pay to watch, the main one being Fontaines D.C who for me are one of the best bands coming through. Quote
manc_don Posted March 29, 2019 Report Posted March 29, 2019 Off to Cuba Dupa here in Wellington today. Usually a street party with loads of street performers, stalls and stages, but due to lack of police numbers post Christchurch shooting, they've had to bring it to venues instead. Organisers were in a lose - lose situation imo. Although, I don't think anything would have happened, they'd have been castigated if something had. Especially after the festival last week where they had to evacuate after a guy was behaving suspiciously. Quote
