quirie Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 At least its at home against a team thats never beat us Quote
Guest ally s Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 At last we start off at home!! It's been about 4 years since we started the season with a home match. Quote
TheChimp Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 I'm liking the start to the season. Seems like they've mixed up the schedule too as opposed to playing 3 blocks of the same fixtures. Quote
Kowalski Posted June 16, 2008 Author Report Posted June 16, 2008 I'll be on my honeymoon while we play at tynecastle for first time of the season. Civil partnership? Quote
TheChimp Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 Hang on, this seasons santa game. Saturday, 20 December 2008 Inverness CT v Aberdeen, 15:00 :ultras: :wino: :beers:  Quote
stonefish100 Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 Fucking cracking set of fixtures for a change. Gives us a great chance to get some early points on the board. Roll on! Quote
10menwent2mow Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 tough run in before the split, 3 out of 4 games away to teams in the Top Half from last year. Looking foward to the season start, any chance of Rangers/Motherwell/Celtic or Hibs being in European action when we play them?? Quote

Looking foward to the season start, any chance of Rangers/Motherwell/Celtic or Hibs being in European action when we play them?? I think Rangers have their first European fixture inbetween playing us and Celtic. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS!! It'll be a Sunday KO though chimpy, and you know it to be true. For once that would suit me, I'm only getting two days off a month and they're both sundays! Quote

For once that would suit me, I'm only getting two days off a month and they're both sundays! As long as we get plenty notice I'm no fussed either, but it will be 9 days or some such shite again. TheChimp Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 As long as we get plenty notice I'm no fussed either, but it will be 9 days or some such shite again. Wouldn't that be around the time of the final group game of the uefa cup? So the Motherwell game will be on Sunday. And anyway, who would give a shit about Inverness v Aberdeen with this set of fixture? Falkirk v Celtic, 15:00 Hamilton v Motherwell, 15:00 Hearts v Dundee Utd, 15:00 Inverness CT v Aberdeen, 15:00 Kilmarnock v St Mirren, 15:00 Rangers v Hibernian, 15:00 Quote
TENEMENTFUNSTER Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 I've said that before too. Monday night it is then. Quote
??? Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 Seems like they've mixed up the schedule too as opposed to playing 3 blocks of the same fixtures. They used a Canadian-based company called Optimal Planning Solutions to draw up the fixtures. Apparently they specialise in sports fixture scheduling and are responsible for the NFL and the American baseball leagues. Some of the factors they were told to take into account by the SPL were:- Not having Celtic and Hamilton playing away from home on the opening day. Not having any club playing 4 out of 5 games either home or away No long-haul journeys over the festive period, or midweek A fair balance of home and away midweek games No clubs playing successive home or away matches several times No club to play 3 home or 3 away matches against another team Quote
10menwent2mow Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 Santa at Inverness, that could be carnage. Quote
TheChimp Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 No long-haul journeys over the festive period, or midweek They did well then. Wednesday, 04 March 2009 St Mirren v Aberdeen, 19:45 Quote
??? Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 They did well then. Wednesday, 04 March 2009 St Mirren v Aberdeen, 19:45 At least it's not in the middle of December or January though. Quote
Ajja Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 OF back to back at Pittodrie in mid January looks tasty Quote
TheChimp Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 At least it's not in the middle of December or January though. Cos more buses and trains run in March. Quote
jmo Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 First game at home to Inverness? I don't think there could be a more boring game to start the season off. Quote
??? Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 Cos more buses and trains run in March. Fans travelling in shite weather on the road? Quote
stonefish100 Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 First game at home to Inverness? I don't think there could be a more boring game to start the season off. Pah, fuck excitement! I'd rather ICT at home and 3 points banked straight off than a trip down to Tannadice for a humping. Quote

I'd rather a trip down to Tannadice for a win. Anyway, I'm glad the two first Wednesday evening games are against St Mirren. Quote
Guest swaddon Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 With the last game before the split being what it is, I hope we've got the title/top 6/safety from relegation sewn up before then. I'd hate for that to be a top 6 decider. Still, it's nearly 10 months in the future, we might be amazing by then and be able to win it. Quote
10menwent2mow Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 we're certainly the best Top 6 decider team based on the last few seasons, mugging both Inverness and Falkirk, god that sounds really pathetic doesn't it!!! Quote
