Reading other boards there are apparently rumours around edinburgh that Mixu may quit due to the lack of financial backing from the board.  Meanwhile their pre-season sounds an even bigger shambles than ours and the hibs fans all hate mixu's style of play as it doesn't conform to the flowing, passing, attacking style they feel is a hibs tradition.

Been doing the rounds for about a week now. One even went as far as saying that he had quit but clearly thats not the case. I know a fair few Hibs fans are not happy about the prospect playing hoof ball up to Nish. Oh well

When you look at the type of player Mixu was, the Hibees should hardly be surprised, should they?

The guys not even had a full season in charge yet.  Also this stunning football that is their tradition, Hibs is the club that gave alex miller a good few seasons in charge.  They cannae be that keen on it!

lost 3-0 to clyde tonight

Apparently they haven't scored any goals all pre-season and infact their last goal was against us in their 4th last game of the season.

So since scoring in the 54th min against us their results have been

0-0 vs Rangers

0-2 vs Celtic

0-2 vs Motherwell

0-2 vs Elfsborg

0-2 vs Elfsborg (again)

0-0 vs Raith Rovers

0-6 vs Barcelona

0-2 vs Cowdenbeath

0-3 vs Clyde

So that is 846mins without a goal :o

And they have that Steven Fletcher that is being chased by Real Madrid ::)

Paatelainen given touchline ban

Hibernian manager Mixu Paatelainen has been given a two-match touchline ban following his dismissal in this week's friendly defeat by Cowdenbeath.

Paatelainen was sent to the stands during the 2-0 defeat on 28 July.

"Mixu Paatelainen will serve a two-match suspension," a Scottish FA spokesperson said. "The ban will begin on 11 August, unless he appeals."

The Hibs boss will be banned for the home game against Falkirk and the away clash with Inverness a week later.

Hibernian have failed to score in nine games and lost their Intertoto Cup tie against Elfsborg 4-0 on aggregate.

Paatelainen was involved in a heated exchange with referee Brian Colvin before being sent to the stand at Central Park.

The Easter Road club have yet to find form and have lost pre-season matches against Barcelona, Cowdenbeath and Clyde, while they struggled to a goalless draw against Raith Rovers.

Paatelainen says he is keen to add some firepower to his squad but will have to watch the opening two games of the SPL season from the stand.

Speaking on Wednesday, he said: "I want to bolster the striking department. We haven't scored too many goals.

"Am I worried? No, because we have goalscorers in the side. I know we will score goals, there's no question about that.

"We have players who create chances and we have players who score goals, no problem."

And some people think that Fletcher is a good striker, he is merely average.

Merely average would get him into our team, easy.

Oh, and the mighty Boro head for Easter Road on Saturday. If they need a result and some goals, the Smoggies will no doubt oblige!! ;D

You heading along to it?

Boro v Hibs could be a bit tasty, so to speak. The bindippers at the huns may also make the coppers a bit twitchy.

Indeed he would play alongside Miller but that says more about the quality of Mackie, Bebo etc.

If you take out McDonald and Boyd there really isnt much in the terms of good quality strikers playing in Scotland.
