El Padre™ Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 Each to their own, I suppose. I crack up at observational comedy. Billy Connolly made a massive career out of observational comedy, and these days the likes of Michael McIntyre and Jimeon certainly keep me entertained with what they observe. Macintyre is to comedy what Crowded House were to music. Bland, uninspiring and there to cater to those who don't want any kind of edge to their entertainment. They probably have the "My Family" box set too. Quote
Kowalski Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 Not really that experienced in Michael macintyres stuff but as I recall his observational humour is based on general stuff in society which could happen to anyone. Pick up a copy of the metro and make a joke. My experience of Connolly is most of his observational humour comes from his actual experiences or from those who were/are close to him. I predict Macintyre will follow the Lee Evans path and gradually fade away from the limelight (but without the movie career). I can't say I'm a Lee Evans fan but he sold out the AECC fairly recently (last 12 months?). Can't stand MacIntyre. Quote
glasgowdon Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 Debating going to go and see Stanhope. Any good shows worth "obtaining"? Quote

kelt Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 Debating going to go and see Stanhope. Any good shows worth "obtaining"? No Refunds is brilliant. I mean, all Stanhope's stuff is brilliant.... but still. Quote
Slim Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 Downloaded Word of Mouth this morning, very good, going to try to obtain some more Quote
El Padre™ Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 Aye, except it's not. You have a tiny penis. Quote
glasgowdon Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 You have a tiny penis. There are tickets available. I'm not sure what issue you have with this. Quote
El Padre™ Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 There are tickets available. I'm not sure what issue you have with this. That was just a general statement about your penis. Nowt to do with tickets. Quote

redordead Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 I seen Tim Michin in Glasgow a year or so ago and the show was immense. He is back in April touring and I'd thoroughly recommend it Quote
manc_don Posted February 19, 2011 Report Posted February 19, 2011 I seen Tim Michin in Glasgow a year or so ago and the show was immense. He is back in April touring and I'd thoroughly recommend it Saw him a few years ago at the Fringe, was a great watch. Quote
RDU_64 Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011 I see Craig Campbell (Canadian guy who supported Frankie Boyle) is at the Lemon Tree next week. Was thinking of getting a ticket or two. Anyone seen him at one of his own shows? What like was he? Quote
dave_min Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011 I've seen him at the Lemon Tree before. He's ok. Gets annoying after a while though. Quote
RDU_64 Posted March 5, 2011 Report Posted March 5, 2011 I've seen him at the Lemon Tree before. He's ok. Gets annoying after a while though. Hmmmmm, that's what I maybe though. Too much of the 'I love Scotland, it's insane' stuff in his support act for Frankie Boyle alone. Went to see Russell Howard again last night. Funny and certainly gave your money's worth. Pretty much ruined some of the gig as some cunts were hell bent on him getting his top off. Quote
El Padre™ Posted March 7, 2011 Report Posted March 7, 2011 Jesus, Russell Howard? The posh kid from Mock the Week? He's about as funny as cholera. Quote
RDU_64 Posted March 7, 2011 Report Posted March 7, 2011 Jesus, Russell Howard? The posh kid from Mock the Week? He's about as funny as cholera. Yes. I took my girlfriend as she loves him but his stand up is entertaining. Certainly different from his stuff on TV obviously but still, entertaining enough. He was on for around 2 hours with a small break in between, very good value for money I would say. Quote
dave_min Posted March 7, 2011 Report Posted March 7, 2011 Russell Howard is ok. Nowhere near the best, but pleasant enough for a few hours entertainment. Quote
RDU_64 Posted March 8, 2011 Report Posted March 8, 2011 Nah, he's shit. Go and fuck yourself cuntbags. Quote
El Padre™ Posted March 8, 2011 Report Posted March 8, 2011 Anyway, lets get back to the real hot topic. Glasgowdon has a tiny penis. Quote
dave_min Posted March 8, 2011 Report Posted March 8, 2011 Anyway, lets get back to the real hot topic. Glasgowdon has a tiny penis. I heard his penis is funnier than a Russell Howard show Quote
Kowalski Posted March 9, 2011 Report Posted March 9, 2011 Jesus, Russell Howard? The posh kid from Mock the Week? He's about as funny as cholera. Agreed, I think he's terrible. I see Stephen Merchant is doing his first standup UK tour. I reckon he would be really good as I suspect he's the brains behind most of The Office and Extras humour. Not coming to Aberdeen but playing Glasgow. Quote
Madbadteacher Posted March 9, 2011 Report Posted March 9, 2011 The office was pish. Gervais is as funny as an STD. Quote
