Professional athletes are sometimes called journeymen. It is not a technical or well-defined designation, instead it is generally given to players who are skilled enough to remain in pro sports but not skilled enough to earn themselves a permanent position on a team. Players given this moniker tend to be adept at a particular aspect of their sport, but do not possess well-rounded talent comparable to their more-successful peers. They are traded between or signed by several different teams over their career, sometimes even over the course of a single season, based on the teams' need for a player with a specific talent."

So you've proved my point.

Who in the Aberdeen squad could realistically be classified as a 'journeyman pro'?

That quote kind of sums up Mackie and Foster.

If I can bring us back on to topic, Scott Severin says in today's Record that we shouldn't boo them at half time if it's 0-0.

As captain, he should be more interested in what his players do on the field than what's going on in the stands.

If the players don't like the booing, then they know what to do about it.

I wasn't there and I never even bothered to listen to the game but I'll wager nobody booed the team off the park on Saturday.

Surprising what a little effort can do isn't it.

You've got to see the irony of a manager asking the fans not to berate the players for their "individual", "sloppy" mistakes, when he does the exact same thing from the sidelines after 5 minutes of play.

If you've ever sat near him and heard him from the main stand then you'll know all about his form of 'encouragement'.
