Dandy_Don Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 Anyone heard anything about this rumour? Not playing regularly at Hull, but would mean a huge wage cut or someone/a company to step in and pay his wages? Quote
stoney Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 posted this on the hat about a month ago, wasnt a great source not sure if there was any truth in it, but we made an enquiry about him coming in as a coach. not sure if the role would involve him playing or not. Make of that what you will! Quote
Mentorred Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 I think he could still do a job for us like Brewster did, and hopefully his temperment will have calmed down a bit with age. Quote
boboisared Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 I think he could still do a job for us like Brewster did, and hopefully his temperment will have calmed down a bit with age. Nah man, the temper gave him that edge!! Quote
mizer Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 Nah man, the temper gave him that edge!! Saw him playing against hearts pre-season and he was very good when he came on the second half. Topcorner and I cant believe how Hull are so high in the league as the day they were all shite except Deano. Quote
willie_millers-barmyarmy Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 theres no question deano could cut it! could we pay his wage?! possibly, from what ive read he loves the city of aberdeen, and would perhaps be willing to deal to settle here for life. DEANO!!! Quote
ntbear Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 In January we will have a forward pairing of Deano and Robbie Winters, now, what's Duncan Shearer and Eoin Jess doing? maybe tempt sicknote Booth back from Setanta? Quote
willie_millers-barmyarmy Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 rather have any of them then darren mackie!... jess could still play spl football!!! ... what a talent! Quote
Kowalski Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 we made an enquiry about him coming in as a coach. Source? Quote
Guest swaddon Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 In January we will have a forward pairing of Deano and Robbie Winters, now, what's Duncan Shearer and Eoin Jess doing? maybe tempt sicknote Booth back from Setanta? Joey Harper might still be able to do a job for us. It's a pity Frank McDougall has his pub now, he'd be awesome up front. Imagine a forward line of Harper, Windass, Jess, Booth and McDougall. Then we'd easily get the 30 goal target that the strikers were set. Quote
Reekie_Red Posted October 25, 2008 Report Posted October 25, 2008 Harper, Windass, Jess, Booth, Shearer and McDougall in the same team? I'd go for 30 goals per MONTH with those players together!! Quote
Madbadteacher Posted October 25, 2008 Report Posted October 25, 2008 Not withou Bumper Graham on the wing! Quote
scotfree Posted October 26, 2008 Report Posted October 26, 2008 Why would he come back to a Club that he left 10 years ago? There is no Players or Managers here now that he was here with. And he has to take a pay cut as well??? Would you do that? Quote
Reekie_Red Posted October 26, 2008 Report Posted October 26, 2008 It's not always all about the money, scotfree! Of all the clubs he could play for, why do you think he is currently with Hull City? For money? No! For the love of the club? Yes! It's no secret that Deano loved his time with us. He was a solid fans' favourite at a time when we also had the likes of Duncan Shearer, Billy Dodds, Eoin Jess and Scott Booth on our books. He's had some bumper payday deals with some half-decent English sides, and has been to Wembley a few times too on cup-final duty. Ever thought he might want to come back to Pittodrie to rekindle his relationship he had with the Red Army? Quote

Mentorred Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 Just spotted looking at houses in Westhill He is house sharing with Frank Mcgarvey. Quote
Guest swaddon Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 Has he been spotted at Dyce Airport yet? Quote

I won't say there is no chance of it happening as it's obviously not completely beyond the realms of possibility but there are tens of thousands of examples against a handful of exceptions where footballers have made these types of moves so I am sticking with my notion that its romantic bollocks for now Quote
Guest Robo Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 I heard an interesting story regarding Eoin Jess. His brother was ten times the player Eoin was, but Eoin's brother disappeared abroad to work and a month later Eoin made it. Eoin admits this himself, he always said his brother was the better player and I've heard this from couple of guys who grew up with the Jess brothers. It was quite interesting to hear actually. Quote
Reekie_Red Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 Ex-Aberdeen and Scotland U18 midfielder Russell Duncan wasn't even the best player in his group of mates. I used to see him and his mates having a kick-around in Stoney when he was a kid, and two of his mates in particular were VERY impressive. Ran circles around Duncan. Yet Duncan is the one who went on to be a pro footballer, and the other two ... well, I think they work office jobs. Quote
boboisared Posted October 29, 2008 Report Posted October 29, 2008 maybe so, buy what age? and a kick aboot in the park? they had to ban him from scoring goals in "house" fitba at school cos he was too good, he was a step above all his contemporaries. Getting a sense of de ja vu here!! Quote
boboisared Posted October 29, 2008 Report Posted October 29, 2008 i was too - i think it must be personal for reekie - got rings run round him by someone 4 years younger Fuck that, thats when the bully in you comes out!! Quote
