mizer Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 http://www.afc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/clubNewsDetail/0,,10284~1465903,00.html There was little of note in the early stages of the game. United started to have the better of the play and Bateman made two excellent saves, continuing his fine form. On 21 minutes the game changed when Buaben was given a straight red card for a tackle on Chris Maguire. Aberdeen then started to take control and started utlising the extra man. Michael Paton had a good chance which the keeper saved well and Rogvi Holm missed a good chance with a header after a Nicky Low cross. In the final minute of the half Chris Maguire was clean through but his effort was blocked. At half time Nicky Low was replaced by Gary Carroll. Aberdeen eventually broke the deadlock just before the hour mark when a Foster cross was met by Carroll whose powerful header found the net. Despite having the extra man Aberdeen did not have it their own way and Bateman produced a stunning save on 70 minutes. Four minutes later his opposite number also produced a magnificent save to stop Maguire scoring, after he had been set up by fine play from Holm. On 77 minutes though Aberdeen got their second. A mazy run from Foster down the right left him in space and his cross found Carroll who finished well to grab his second of the afternoon. As well as Carroll the players who caught the eye were Bateman for another clean sheet and some excellent saves, Foster, Crawford and Paton also deserves a mention for the hard work he put in. Team: Bateman, Hodgkiss, Foster, Stewart, Crawford, Holm, de Visscher, Clark, Maguire, Paton, Low, Subs Bain, Gallacher, Carroll, Ross, Megginson Goals: Carroll 58, 77 Quote
BobbyBiscuit Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 Sounds as though we should give that lad Foster a run out in the first team!!! Eh..? Oh...wait.... Quote
Ajja Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 Sounds as though we should give that lad Foster a run out in the first team!!! Eh..? Oh...wait.... Scoring goals for fun is the minimum criteria. Until that starts then he has no chance Quote

amp Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 Holm? he sounds foreign - for that reason alone I would like to see him get a chance in the first team. When i was a young kid I always thought players with foreign-sounding names should be in the team. Quote
