El Padre™ Posted December 3, 2008 Report Posted December 3, 2008 My first game was Atletico last year. I blagged 5 free tickets, kept one for myself and the rest went to people in my work. It was nice because none of us had ever been to a game before and it allowed my colleagues wives to go shopping in Madrid! I've never been to a game since. Quote

TheChimp Posted December 3, 2008 Report Posted December 3, 2008 A 3-0 win at East End Park in 1987. Jim Bett and Paul Mason with 2 I believe. Thank fuck for the centenary book. Quote

BigAl Posted December 3, 2008 Report Posted December 3, 2008 Did Mason not sign for us in 1988? Indeed he did, and left for Ipswich in 1993. Great signing by Smithy Quote

Aberdeen_Ladette Posted December 3, 2008 Report Posted December 3, 2008 1975 at Pittodrie, can't remember who against or if we won as I was very young at the time Quote

baggy89 Posted December 3, 2008 Report Posted December 3, 2008 My Grandad brought me to a Dundee game about 85 or 86 think we won 2-0. That shouldn't have been my first game though. My Dad was going to take me about six months before, however my Mum spent the weeks before winding me up about "hooligans" and I shat it and refused to go at the lat minute. Quote
Biggalloot Posted December 3, 2008 Report Posted December 3, 2008 My first game was Aberdeen away to Dunfermline. Can't remember the year but it was the game when a dutch superstar by the name of Gillhaus scored two. One was an overhead kick. Brilliant goal. Can't remember it but seen it on youtube plenty of times. Quote
TheChimp Posted December 3, 2008 Report Posted December 3, 2008 Did Mason not sign for us in 1988? I was completely wrong. Paul Wright scored 2 and Jones (?) scored the other. Quote
BobbyBiscuit Posted December 3, 2008 Report Posted December 3, 2008 I was completely wrong. Paul Wright scored 2 and Jones (?) scored the other. Tom Jones. One of his few high notes with us.... Quote
BigAl Posted December 3, 2008 Report Posted December 3, 2008 I was completely wrong. Paul Wright scored 2 and Jones (?) scored the other. The famous Tom Jones Unless I'm mistaken an inspired Porterloo signing Quote
TheChimp Posted December 3, 2008 Report Posted December 3, 2008 The famous Tom Jones Unless I'm mistaken an inspired Porterloo signing I thought it was. Starting team that day..... Leighton, McKimmie, Falconer, Conner, McLeish, Miller, Dodds, Bett, Wright, Jones, Weir with Hewitt coming off the bench. Quote
TBR1903 Posted December 3, 2008 Report Posted December 3, 2008 Aberdeen v Dynamo Dresden sometime in the late 80's 0-0 2nd one was more memorable, 3-1 v Dunfermline in same season, champaigne charlie with a brace Quote
Ajja Posted December 3, 2008 Report Posted December 3, 2008 The famous Tom Jones Unless I'm mistaken an inspired Porterloo signing What a time that was! Gary Hackett was immense also. I don't really remember my first game but it was def at Tynecastle as FJ says. I thought it was a 1-0 win and we sat at the back of the main stand. Was sometime in the early 80s. For 2-3 years we only ever got to see Aberdeen play Hearts until our Jambo dad took us to Pittodrie and we rinsed them 4-0 and the casuals booted the Yams all the way up and over the broadhill. After that we had to go ourselves, first game without parents was a 2-1 cup victory at Starks Park. Quote
Kowalski Posted December 4, 2008 Report Posted December 4, 2008 Tom Jones. One of his few high notes with us.... Its not unusual for him. Quote
TENEMENTFUNSTER Posted December 4, 2008 Report Posted December 4, 2008 What a time that was! Gary Hackett was immense also. Not forgetting the great Keith Edwards. Quote
BobbyBiscuit Posted December 4, 2008 Report Posted December 4, 2008 Its not unusual for him. There were more than a few Suspicious Minds when he signed Quote
