minijc Posted December 27, 2008 Report Posted December 27, 2008 Hearts have the easiest but we MUST win atleast 3 of the next 5, in a perfect world we'd win them all but not going to happen, would love it if we won 4 out of the 5 though which can be done. Quote
BobbyBiscuit Posted December 27, 2008 Report Posted December 27, 2008 Having unfortunately watched the OF game today, we can definitely beat both of the ugly sisters. Fucking appalling game played by two teams who are both as shit as each other at passing the ball. Nothing to be frightened of at all. Quote

glasgow sheep Posted December 27, 2008 Author Report Posted December 27, 2008 I think as long as we win our 3 away from home we'll be within a point or two of third, if not clear ourselves. I would expect us to get something off the huns, but given our record vs the tims at pittodrie I wouldn't be putting much on us getting a win. Whatever, the OF games will take care of themselves. The biggest game is probably Killie away on a cold Jan midweek night infront of a shit crowd. Win that, top6 is secure and we're breathing down the jutes necks Quote
Ajja Posted December 27, 2008 Report Posted December 27, 2008 I would worry most about Killie as well. I think we will take the hun without breaking sweat. Quote
Aberdeen_Ladette Posted December 28, 2008 Report Posted December 28, 2008 I would worry most about Killie as well. I think we will take the hun without breaking sweat. Thirded! I'm starting to consider working overtime to pay for Europe 09/10! Quote
Drewsome Posted December 28, 2008 Report Posted December 28, 2008 Just to be sniffing at Eurpoean qualification is refreshing again. Personally, I can't see us in 3rd by the end of January. I WOULD LOVE TO; don't get me wrong. I see the Killie game being the biggest of the upcoming schedule. 3rd can be done but at the end of February or later. This is Aberdeen; they never do anything easy. Quote

Agreed, end of Jan is a big ask with the OF both to play but we might have put ourselves in a good position and I have a feeling that we will see a bit of a gap opening up between the 3 sides and the rest (Hibs, Killie et al) Quote
kelt Posted December 29, 2008 Report Posted December 29, 2008 Right now I reckon we are capable of beating any team in the SPL. Rangers and Celtic aren't scary, they aren't big or clever, they sign shite like Broadfoot and Boyd. If we go at them we can beat them, and if we lose while having a go at them then so be it. To fuck with this sitting in shite. They're there for the taking. Quote
Harcus Posted January 1, 2009 Report Posted January 1, 2009 Race for third I didn't realise Scotland will have three teams in the UEFA Tinpot League, or whatever it's due to be called next season. http://www.uefa.com/competitions/uefacup/news/kind=2097152/newsid=788326.html Does that mean fifth place will be good enough for Europe, if an Old Firm Scottish Cup final was to occur, for example? Quote
Ajja Posted January 1, 2009 Report Posted January 1, 2009 I think that runners up spot gets in if OF win it but they are relegated to N4 position with N3 and N4 moving forward one place in terms of entry stage. In the event of an OF final I suspect that 5th place would then get entry behind N3 & 4 Quote
