His form over the last 3 weeks or so has been impressive.  If it continues offer him a new deal.

Deal time comes up and he puts in a few good games-surprise surprise! Going on his time here as a whole it would be hard to say he deserves a new contract.

Guess thats the point I was trying to Mizer. Nae exactly set the heather alight to date, but getting a run of games in the starting line up might be working for his confidence, and hopefully now turning into the player we all hoped he was ???

Well I don't think he has ever started this many games in a row.

Agree with Padre too.

Jeffrey: I’m not thinking of a deal

Published: 29/12/2008

DUTCH midfielder Jeffrey de Visscher will delay contract talks to concentrate on becoming a first team regular.

De Visscher is one of six players out of contract in the summer, and is free to talk to other clubs when the January transfer window opens on Thursday.

He said: “I am not thinking about contracts at the moment.

“I have played the last three games, so I am happy. My aim now is to keep my place in the team and win as many games as possible.

“I have had a chat with the manager about my situation. We discussed the finances at the club and the manager said he is happy with me.â€

De Visscher had previously admitted he could consider leaving the club if he was not securing a regular start.

“The manager told me he couldn’t guarantee me a place in the side, but if I kept working hard I would get my chance,†he said.

“A few weeks ago, I felt he was looking past me despite working hard in training, but he has given me my chance and I am happy with that.â€

De Visscher produced his best performance for the Dons in the 1-0 win over Hearts at Pittodrie.

And he insists he is relishing life at Pittodrie.

He said: “I am working for myself and the team, and I want to make the fans happy.

“This is such a nice place to play if it is going well.

“I am very happy with the last few weeks and hopefully it can continue like this.â€

Aberdeen now face an away trip to Hamilton on Saturday, and de Visscher realises another win is needed if they are to book a return to Europe.

He said: “We must improve and we need to have this spirit in every game.

“We knew if we won against Hearts we would be one point behind them and we have a game in hand on Dundee United too.

“To beat Hearts is a very good three points.â€

Me 4.

If he can keep his performance levels at that of Saturday's then we have a real asset. I don't think it's any coincidence that his good play has come after a (half) decent run in the first team. JC's usually reluctant to give that to players.

I also think it's important that he doesn't cut his hair. Touzani shaved his head and lost all his power and fucked off back to Holland.  :-[

Deal. As has been said, he's never been given a run in th team and it takes some continental players a year to get up to speed. He's done that now, lost weight and sounds like the player we thought we signed. Give him another year and see how he does then.

I'd give him another year. Load it with incentives tied to starting games. See if that works.

Is it his choice that he's not starting games? I thought it was more cause of Calderwood? Which if is the case that would make nae difference.

Fucking right btw, i've always thought JDV had cult hero written all over him but he needs to keep the dutch porn star look about him  ;D

Seriously though i've always rated him as a player and wanted to see him get a run in the side.  Thing bout jeff that i like the most is even when not playing particularily well its very rare to see him give the ball away

I think most people can see that he has something to offer.

However, i also spoke to a few people after the game on saturday who thought he had a terrible game and laughed at me for saying i thought he was our best player, despite him already picking up the sponsors award.

Problem is that I think he'll forever be fighting against the blithering retards who don't really know that much about football who were under the impression we'd signed the new Christiano Ronaldo.

He's definitely not the quickest, but i've not see him wasting any passes, and his delivery is good.  Plus, he's not exactly had a fair crack of the whip, especially when you consider the alternatives.

Definitely Deal.

It's either him or Derek Young.... ::)

The irony...  ;)

Oh look, it's spellcheck.

::)

Nope, just a little ironic that you can't spell the name of the best player in the world after slagging people who don't know anything about football.  ;)

What a tremendous season Ronaldo is having so far.  ???

Aye, you're right, it was pretty shoddy actually...  ::)
