well done to JC for putting the young lads in, very impressed with pawlett deserved a goal but miller denied him the chance more then capable of replacing foster and mackie lets get him in.

Maguire had 4 easy chances and scored two, should have had 4 but still scored two and a better return then mackie would have.

Agreed Miller denied him his chance, but you're suggesting Pawlett for right back or striker?

Both foster and mackie have been playing all over the shop - i was suggesting they could be fucked off and make way for the young lad to get a few more run outs.

If it doesnt work out - nothing lost!

As has already been said the game was pretty much over as a contest when their keeper was sent off.  We eased off a bit in the 2nd half but that's understandable.  Paton and Pawlett both looked lively, Pawlett in particular looks very comfortable on the ball and was always willing to have a run at the opposition.

So a player coming out of the team has to be directly replaced with someone in the same position?  :hammer:

never been known under calderwood so why would we start doing it now?

........and there they go.

We're not talking about JC putting him on the park in the wrong positions.

We're talking about you making a post that wants him in at either striker, on the wing or at full back and not worrying where, having spent years moaning about JC doing just that.

Come on, you're amongst a more relaxed bunch, admit it, you're seeing the error of your knee-jerk ways and warming to JC's total fitba ethic.    ;D

So playing players out of position no longer bothers you?

Game was over with the sending off, but the keeper didn't give the ref much choice.

We played well and were in complete control.  Some decent goals - not sure if Wright's was deliberate or not but it looked good.

Aluko and Miller probably our best players.

Agree with this, good finishes from both Vidal and Wright in the first half.  Thought Vidal had a very good game, Miller played well also.  Tommy Wright fair got stuck in but didn't really get into the game much.  A few good crosses toward the end of the game that a partnership of Wright/Miller should make the most of.

Aluko was MOTM for me, two assists and a goal.  He really ripped the East Fife right-back to shreds, although the amount of space they were giving him was ridiculous.  Seemed to fade in the second half though.

It was good to see the team continue pushing forward for goals even though the game was dead after 20 minutes.  A few really good passing moves, crisp and direct, which is what you want to see especially when you have a man advantage.

Foster was awful going forward, always slowed down play and seemed clueless as to what to do when he had the ball.  In his defence, he was constantly tracking back and made a few good interventions.

Just as well Maguire scored as his attempts before and after his goal were shocking, particularly the one on one with the keeper that landed in row M!

Maguire did very well to get through on goal for both his 1-on-1s, although how he managed to sky the first one was beyond me.  Tried to smash it past the keeper when he should have side-footed it, which was what he did for the second.  Good strength and finish for that one though.

His performance reminded me of Diego Forlan at Man United.  He was putting everything into his shots/headers when sometimes you just need a little composure.  He seemed to be trying too hard to impress.  The fans getting on his back was needless, you could see the relief when he did manage to get his goal though.

He also had a great chance with a header but instead of glancing the cross toward goal he got too much on it.

If he's been credited with two goals then the first looked like an O.G. from the keeper for me.

From where I was sitting it looked like it had just crossed the line, the keeper tried to pull it back but the momentum of him falling back into the net took it in.

It was really a match we dominated without ever stepping out of 1st gear, to be honest ive seen more competitive training matches!

I though the two young guys played alrite when they came on. Pawlett especially, it was a shame miller took the ball right off his foot minutes after he came on as Pawlett looked as if he had a decent chance on goal lined up.

Some decent passing moves through out the game but there was always a real sense that the players took their foot off the gas as soon as we went 2-0 up, which was fair enough i guess considering the match was over, not much point in putting in too much effort and risking injuries for saturday!

Over all im sure that performance will have built up confidence, especially in the likes of Wright and Maguire.
