??? Posted January 13, 2009 Report Posted January 13, 2009 Great result, especially being 1-0 down. Clique Cliché time, but at this stage of the season it's results that matter. A win at Killie, which is a place we've struggled at in recent years, is a sign of progress from earlier in the season. Another two for Miller, will only create interest although it'll also increase the pricetag . If the lad's got any sense he'll stick with Aberdeen for another season or two at least. He's been around enough so early in his career, it's no surprise to see him hitting top form now that he's settled into the club as well as living in Aberdeen now. Quote
glasgow sheep Posted January 13, 2009 Report Posted January 13, 2009 Just back (sic) Really enjoyed the match tonight, well worth the £20 and the jumped up steward upset we dared to stand for longer than 2s after the goal. First half we were terrible. Zander all over the shop, Mulgrew unable to go forward or seemingly pass a ball to a aberdeen player and mackie and foster clueless on the right. Killie got a lucky break for their goal after a wicked deflection, but the could have had 2 or 3. We created little but managed to force a number of corners and Miller scored from one with what looked like a back heel flick after Mulgrew finally worked out how to kick a ball. 1-1 at half time certainly flattered us, but we came out guns blazing in the 2nd and for a good 15 mins were pinging the ball around beautifully. Great 2nd, Miller header from the corner of the 6yrd box after great work by aluko on the right. After that we could, and probably should have scored more, with aluko guilty of passing up a great chance. Killie then put us under a lot of pressure for the last 15mins but only created a couple of decent chances. We looked dangerous on the break but had the linesman to contend with. One move in particular Miller played Aluko in from a position that looked perfectly in line only for the flag to go up. Could well have lost, but managed to hold on in a pretty entertaining game all round. Aluko and Miller were superb and McDonald and Kerr continue to impress in the middle. Severin was solid and hopefully doesn't have a bad injury as the rest of our back line, esp zander and foster, were generally woeful. Vital 3pts, above the LSC and about time to get something off the tims at Pittodrie Quote
TENEMENTFUNSTER Posted January 13, 2009 Report Posted January 13, 2009 Great result, entertainment and 2 more goals for big handsome! JMG must go, clueless. Quote
BigAl Posted January 13, 2009 Report Posted January 13, 2009 Just in the hoose ten mins ago. Called it right at 2-1 for us, but as usual it is never straightforward. Got a bit of a pasting posession wise in first half, but remarkably according to the killie stats on the electronic board we actaully had more shots on target than them. First twenty mins of second half we were superb. Big difference with Kerr pushing forward from the middle of the park. Agree with GS that defensively we looked vulnerable but Killie had nothing much up front. Ref did his best to spoil a good game and called a number of thing wrong, not least of which by not showing their little Moroccan a 2nd yellow for a blatant dive. All in a satisfying night......christ knows I've sat through somew howlers over the years down there, and delighted to leave with the three points tonight Quote
ntbear Posted January 13, 2009 Report Posted January 13, 2009 Only one call for Jimmy to go, This is donstalk isn't it? Quote
El Padre™ Posted January 13, 2009 Report Posted January 13, 2009 Quick reality check: Hearts have Killie at Rugby Park, then Caley at Tynecastle We have either side of the old firm at a time when our defence is starting to look shaky. Hearts will be 5 points clear of us by the end of the month. Good win tonight though. Quote

stoney Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 Stoney spot again again Settled team + settled formation = consistancy + wins im in the wrong line of work Keep it simple Quote
BobbyBiscuit Posted January 14, 2009 Author Report Posted January 14, 2009 Stoney spot again again Settled team + settled formation = consistancy + wins im in the wrong line of work Keep it simple A settled team with two changes after a win? Quote
stoney Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 better then 6 changes and 12 tactical changes before during after a game tho Quote
mizer Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 Stoney, Al, GS and anyone else who was at the game. Who was your man of the match? Quote
BobbyBiscuit Posted January 14, 2009 Author Report Posted January 14, 2009 better then 6 changes and 12 tactical changes before during after a game tho Aye, but you were still wrong the first time. Quote
manc_don Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 GS is that really you?? Thats a very positive post, keep it up Chuffed with the result, kinda wish I'd gone now, but oh well, gave a good big cheer in the bar I was at It does concern me though that the defence sounded woeful in the first half right before we play the gruesome twosome But a great result ! Lets hope we get something from the Oirish imposters :ultras: Quote
BigAl Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 Stoney, Al, GS and anyone else who was at the game. Who was your man of the match? Prob has to be Miller given his two goals, but very good performances from Aluko, Seve and Mark Kerr particularily in the second half. In all honesty the football we played in the first 20 mins of the second half was as good as I've seen us this season Quote
Superstar Tradesman Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 A settled team with two changes after a win? Let's not let a little thing I like to call 'cold hard facts' get in the way of his post. Had we lost we'd have heard the exact opposite, what with Mulgrew playing in midfield. Fucking tombola. Quote

glasgow sheep Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 Ref managed to book four players as result of this incident, including Taouil, who shortly after had a blatant dive and didn't get the second card it merited. and all because he never gave Miller a freekick for getting fouled for about 10yds before getting hacked down Quote
glasgowdon Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 Not to mention what does Stoney spot again again actually mean? If cove had said it I'd understand it was about his acne but WTF the fuck? Quote
One Bobby Clark Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 We're a long way from being world beaters, but at least we're winning games now. Earlier this season that game would have seen us going home pointless. I'm willing to wager that the 6 points we've gifted Hamilton will be the points that keeps us out of Europe at the end of the season. Quote
One Bobby Clark Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 20 quid we make europe? if it's via League position only, I accept. Winning the Scottish Cup doesn't count. I'd be happy to lose though Quote
