manc_don Posted June 30, 2017 Report Posted June 30, 2017 I'm holding back from any gloating given the Fola Esch debacle this time last year Was thinking the same last night. Haven't uttered a word to my hun mates. Quote
Jute Posted June 30, 2017 Report Posted June 30, 2017 I'm holding back from any gloating given the Fola Esch debacle this time last year Tried to get that point across to a mate who was on about winding up the Tribute Act fans. Quote
BigAl Posted June 30, 2017 Report Posted June 30, 2017 That's Kenny Miller now scored in Europe for all three Old Firm teams. Quote
manc_don Posted July 2, 2017 Report Posted July 2, 2017 Confed cup final on its just now, Chile vs Germany. Hopefully be a decent watch Quote
tom_widdows Posted July 2, 2017 Report Posted July 2, 2017 I See that Mexico played two games today - One in Seattle and the other in Moscow. I know clubs send can send out various teams in pre-season but don't recall ever seeing a National team do the same thing, especially 5000 miles apart.....unless they finished in Seattle and then immediately jumped on a plane Quote
manc_don Posted July 2, 2017 Report Posted July 2, 2017 Enjoyable game, Germany haven't done much and very much scored against the run of play. Chile have been all over them but they just haven't got the composure to score. Could and should be miles ahead. Quote
tom_widdows Posted July 2, 2017 Report Posted July 2, 2017 Could be wrong but I'm thinking the use of the Video Ref stopped a potential 'Lafferty' moment in the second half between Vidal (I think) and the German Keeper. They squared up nose to nose (actual heads connected) after the ball went out for a goal kick but neither of them went down as if they had been shot. Just old fashioned pushing anf shoving til their mates and the ref waded in. Not entirely convinced about the Video Ref Malarky but if it starts catching out the Laffertys, Rivaldos etc then I may come round to it. Quote

Just old fashioned pushing anf shoving til their mates and the ref waded in. Not entirely convinced about the Video Ref Malarky but if it starts catching out the Laffertys, Rivaldos etc then I may come round to it. There was a "behind the goal" linesman about two inches from it who should have spotted it. I think the blatant Lafferty types aren't worth the technology being implemented, they are few and far between and end in decent suspensions for the players (in theory). The problems with the technology were obvious from the few games that have been shown. The ref not using the video when they perhaps could/should have. The refs getting harassed at every slightly contentious moment to use the technology, the dicking about under pressure from managers. The inability to accept a decision from another source/ref, so the existing ref must be the one to check the video. The mistaking of "contact" with foul - usually an issue only for idiot commentators, but occasionally not fully understood by refs (i.e. just because there is contact - in a contact sport - doesn't mean there is a foul). There was plenty others as well as it just being a shite process overall. We're trying to do things arse about tit in fitba with this nonsense. We simply don't have the respect for the referee, the consistency (and ease) of decision making, the transparency and the respect of the sport and players of referees (i.e. ref arrogance) and the overwhelming abundance of cheating on the pitch during games. Once/if those things come about, then we'd be able to take a rugby view of the game. Otherwise, it'll just be an increased sham of the existing sham. Quote

Three Crazz Posted July 4, 2017 Report Posted July 4, 2017 Rangers manager sacked before season starts  Quote
EdmontonDandy Posted July 4, 2017 Report Posted July 4, 2017 Unbelievable. Sevco papped oot by a team that finished 4th in Luxembourg. I know we had a hard time against Fola Esch but this result has fair made my day. Sevco get what they deserve, Pedro winna last the week let alone the season. Quote
Ten Caat Posted July 4, 2017 Report Posted July 4, 2017 Just out the bath forgot those zombies were even playing. Fuckin yaaaaaaaaaaaasssssss. l feel a cheeky wee glass or 3 of chilled white port coming on Quote
EdmontonDandy Posted July 4, 2017 Report Posted July 4, 2017 Shamelessly lifted from twitter "Rangers have been dumped out of Europe by a team from a country that you could completely carpet, with underlay, for under £75." Quote
Madbadteacher Posted July 4, 2017 Report Posted July 4, 2017 I was so busy with family 4th of July BBQ I forgot about this, what a pleasant surprise when I logged on here! (It could only have been better if it had been the 12th, but I'll bet there are marches coming up this weekend that should be a larf!) Quote
OxfordDon Posted July 6, 2017 Report Posted July 6, 2017 Saints still looking like getting knocked out of Europe despite Trakai having their captain sent off with 30 minutes left. Quote
donsdaft Posted July 6, 2017 Report Posted July 6, 2017 Normally I wouldn't have anything against St.Johnstone. But seeing how that Hun Foster is there, then ;D ;D Quote
OxfordDon Posted July 6, 2017 Report Posted July 6, 2017 Sevco: We're the biggest embarressment in Scottish football. St Johnstone: Hud ma pint. Quote
RicoS321 Posted July 6, 2017 Report Posted July 6, 2017 Did I read that right? Callum Davidson was playing for Saints? I thought he was retired? Aye, a few years ago. Edit: Aye, I read it right. Heap of pish though. Murray. Forgot about him. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/40475664 Quote

tom_widdows Posted July 14, 2017 Report Posted July 14, 2017 Killie turned over by Ayr. Very enjoyable looking watching McCulloch's angry coupon And some team from Glasgow's east end beat some bunch of muppets from Belfast whilst being showered with various 'projectiles'. Seemingly the Thumb got booked for complaining to the ref about it Edit: This pic may come back to haunt him Quote
