Made so much better by the fact that they were engaging in the classic unsporting behaviour pre pass back rule. It's amazing how good a rule the pass back rule is. Simple and effective and doesn't take away from the spirit and flow of the game whilst not making it too difficult/unfair for keepers (Leighton, Langfield can be excused for the purposes of my point).

Huns do to the Tims what all their followers slag other teams for doing to them. Must have been about 20 minutes of that first half with 11 huns in the final third behind the ball.
Also I’d like to see a ref, just once, blow for the foul for the shirt pull, then card the fouled player for throwing themselves to the ground. “The player had a hold of your shirt above waist level, what made your legs give way?”

Who cares about that, no self respecting Aberdeen supporter should be watching that nonsense.

The criminal boy at Livvy is doing a great job.

Manchester United win 1-0 over Burnley to go top of league in England. Play Liverpool this weekend. Win and will be 6 points clear.

What a weird turn of events. Doubt anyone would have predicted they'd get anywhere near top of the league at any point this season

Definitely not me anyway. They are awful to watch.

Watched the Copa Libertadores semi final between Palmeiras v River Plate last night. Brilliant game despite the constant stoppages for VAR reviews. Palmeiras were 3-0 up from first leg but River went at them from the off and were 2-0 up by half time. They then scored what looked a perfectly good third goal which was eventually chopped off by VAR as a River player came from an offside position in the build up to intercept a pass by a Palmeiras defender. River were then reduced to 10 men. Next River were awarded a penalty when River forward was brought down in the box. However after another lengthy VAR review it was decided that when watched in super slow motion from one angle that the forward dragged his foot to draw the contact so the decision was over turned.  Neither of decisions in my opinion were clear and obvious errors. Game was played at a fantastic pace though and well worth sitting up to 2am to watch.

Second semi final between Boca and Santos is on BBC iPlayer tonight at 10:15pm. Hopefully it will be as good.

Boca were a massive let down. Completely lacklustre performance. But credit to Santos, they played some great football and tore them a new one. Don't think Boca had a shot on target? Final is on 30th at the home of South American football*, the Maracana. Should be a cracker.

*unless you're from any other South American country

Some of the defending from Santos was outstanding. They gave Boca very few opportunities and when they did they were throwing bodies in to block shots. Two Paulista teams in the final being played in Rio.

Derby County not able to pay wages of players for December. Surprised they are only ones so far.

All of football is about to collapse into a heap of debt and recrimination.

The only sensible thing to do is stop. Who wants to keep ploughing money into this sanitised excuse for football we are getting just now. The whole point of football is going to the game to watch it.

With 2 rounds to go in the English Championship it now seems Wigan are not the only club potentially facing points deduction.

Derby County and Sheffield Wednesday facing up to 21 point penalties for selling their stadiums to their owners to make sure they didnt breach the financial fair play rules.

Hillsborough was sold for £60million so the club posted a 24.6million pre tax profit.

Pride Park was sold for £80million so Derby posted a 14.6million pre tax profit

Derby appear to have been in the financial shit for a while now so I am not surprised they are one of the first of the next batch of clubs to announce problems paying their players down south.
Unlike Sheffield Wednesday they managed to get away with the stadium sales trick but failure to get promoted in the playoffs 2 seasons back suggests they were gambling alot on getting TV money.

Liverpool losing 1-0 to Burnley tonight. Liverpool now gone over 400 minutes without scoring. Tough run of games coming up for them as well.

This a record McInnes is trying to beat?
