Reekie_Red Posted November 5, 2009 Report Posted November 5, 2009 Barthez was amazing when he was up for it. Admittedly some of his performances were shocking, including his attempt at out-witting Di Canio in the FA Cup. But there's countless times Barthez has simply been unbelievable. He's one of these keepers with the ability to catch the ball in situations where the vast majority would be forced to punch the ball away or turn it round for a corner. Barthez just had a knack for making the ball cling to his hands like velcro. Quote
Ptayles Posted November 5, 2009 Report Posted November 5, 2009 I'm led to believe it was deodrant that was used on them, which naturally led to them rioting. Poor huns I Thought it might have just been the rain Quote
BobbyBiscuit Posted November 5, 2009 Report Posted November 5, 2009 Barthez's best days certainly weren't in a United shirt. Seemed to bottle it in a few big matches, one at Highbury in particular. He was a good keeper in general, just not at Old Trafford. Quote

Should have signed van der Sar then, barthez was far too unreliable. Quote
glasgow sheep Posted November 5, 2009 Report Posted November 5, 2009 should this be re-named the ManU/Liverpool Pish Thread? Quote

manc_don Posted November 5, 2009 Report Posted November 5, 2009 should this be re-named the ManU/Liverpool Pish Thread? We actually do chat about other teams in here you know, like Rangers Edit: right on cue A number of Rangers supporters wearing Stone Island and Burberry and speaking with Cockney accents were spotted before the match in Romania. manc_don Posted November 7, 2009 Report Posted November 7, 2009 I see Hearts and HIbs drew blanks in the Edinburgh Derby this afternoon. Think this was probably the best outcome regarding our position. Quote
BobbyBiscuit Posted November 7, 2009 Report Posted November 7, 2009 1-0 Real Madrid in the Madrid derby. Great goal by Kaka after 4 minutes Quote
BobbyBiscuit Posted November 7, 2009 Report Posted November 7, 2009 2-0 Real now, Marcelo with another cracker. Atleti are piss poor, but Forlan's just hit the post. Quote
BobbyBiscuit Posted November 7, 2009 Report Posted November 7, 2009 finished 3-2 to Real who had Ramos sent off. Good game. Miles better than the boxing... Quote
dave_min Posted November 8, 2009 Report Posted November 8, 2009 finished 3-2 to Real who had Ramos sent off. Good game. Miles better than the boxing... Agreed. It took me about an hour to realise I could have recorded the football and watched it after the boxing HOWEVER, managed to record the last 15 mins and watch it after, excellent end to the match >>>>> boxing!! tsr Posted November 8, 2009 Report Posted November 8, 2009 Was a really good game, Atletico certainly went for it against 10 men. Wondering if I should just start a separate thread for Arsenal that I can just add the sign to every time they play superb, what a team they are just now Quote
BrownyBrown Posted November 8, 2009 Report Posted November 8, 2009 Me and my mate switched to the boxing on 85mins at 3-0 in the Madrid derby because it was 'all over'! Quote

I'm amazed at how Pepe still gets a game at Real Madrid, for a big lump of a lad he gets brushed off the ball far too easily. Quote
RDU_64 Posted November 8, 2009 Report Posted November 8, 2009 Falkirk gone 2-1 against Ra Sellick. Pressure will really be on Mowbary unless they get 3 points. Pretty awful performance though. Quote
tom_widdows Posted November 8, 2009 Report Posted November 8, 2009 3-2 tic now seemingly olesnik had a double save from a first half penalty that has to be seen to be believed Quote
RDU_64 Posted November 8, 2009 Report Posted November 8, 2009 Can't believe I'm sitting in a library, when I could be home and watching this game! 3-3! Quote
glasgow sheep Posted November 8, 2009 Report Posted November 8, 2009 Sounded like the tims were singing through the mins silence today too. Quote
