The Buddies have put all the fixtures and fittings at the famous old Paisley ground up for sale before it is demolished. The Saints moved house to a magnificent new multi-million pound stadium at Greenhill Road in Ferguslie Park earlier this month. advertisement And the thrifty Dons have taken advantage of the big sale by snapping up the urinals from the men's toilets for their Pittodrie stadium. Elsewhere, St Mirren's fierce local rivals Morton have stripped out all of the seats in West Stand for use at their Cappielow ground. And South of Scotland League club Threave Rovers also made the journey to Renfrewshire last weekend to plunder seats for their ground in Castle Douglas. St Mirren chairman Stewart Gilmour, who brokered a big-money deal to sell Love Street to supermarket chain Tesco, confirmed his club had cashed in on their old ground. He said: "The ground was all set to be demolished and we are moving on so everything in it was put up for sale. We have done very nicely out of it indeed." We advertised a list of items to be sold off about five weeks ago and things like seats have already been sold off to various clubs up and down the country. It’s a wee financial boost for us as the money can be spent on our new stadium as we’ve still got a few things left to do there.†A spokesman for Aberdeen said the club is delighted to have a little piece of Paisley history installed at Pittodrie. He added, “Compared to the toilets in our South Stand – which isn’t the newest structure in the world – the Love Street troughs are in quite good condition.
