scotfree Posted August 20, 2020 Report Posted August 20, 2020 I've been watching The Joy Of Painting with Bob Ross. It's on for half an hour on the telly each day and It's a must for me. Not that I want to learn how to paint, I just like the chilled nature of Bob. Quote
Madbadteacher Posted August 20, 2020 Report Posted August 20, 2020 Was he not some kind of psycho marine/seal type in the army before becoming the tv star? Quote

He was a master Sergent in the US Airforce. Story goes that when he left the Airforce he said he had enough of shouting and that's why he talks in that calm voice. He only lived until he was 53. Cancer got him. His life story is worth a look at. Quote
manc_don Posted August 26, 2020 Report Posted August 26, 2020 Finished gangs of London the other day. Have to time my viewings for when the bairns are asleep. Violent as fuck but great viewing. Looking forward to the second series. There better be one! Quote
Donofanewera Posted August 26, 2020 Report Posted August 26, 2020 Watching wentworth now. Easy watching Quote
hercule poirot Posted August 29, 2020 Report Posted August 29, 2020 Have been watching The Fall over the past couple of days. Started at 6am yesterday and am currently on Series 3 Episode 5. Dragging on a bit now, could have been condensed into two series. Maximum. Quote
Kowalski Posted September 10, 2020 Author Report Posted September 10, 2020 Caught a documentary on Amazon Prime about the mighty Leeds United called “Do you want to win?” https://m.imdb.com/title/tt6616364/ It was about their 91/92 league win but also got into some off the off field challenges they had such as racism and hooliganism. I thought it was really good with some great chat with the likes of Vinnie Jones, Strachan and McAllister. What a midfield they had back then with Strachan, McAllister, Batty & Speed!!! Quote
RicoS321 Posted September 10, 2020 Report Posted September 10, 2020 Watching Damages at the minute, been good. Not sure what planet I was on when it first came out that I hadn't seen it, but been worth a catch-up so far. Quote
tom_widdows Posted September 10, 2020 Report Posted September 10, 2020 Nice person has added me to their Netflix account so may now finally start watching all the 'must see' box sets Started with this one though Thankfully its like Futurama and not the Simpsons (someone really needs to put the latter out of its misery) Quote

Kowalski Posted September 14, 2020 Author Report Posted September 14, 2020 First episode of the Dennis Nilsen story on ITV was promising. The Broch’s most famous son! Quote
tom_widdows Posted September 14, 2020 Report Posted September 14, 2020 (edited) After Life Highly recommend it to everyone and glad there is a 3rd season coming soon Edited September 14, 2020 by tom_widdows Quote
LA-Don Posted September 21, 2020 Report Posted September 21, 2020 ‘The Social Dilemma’ here in the US on netflix, not sure if you get it in the UK. Very interesting stuff, particularly with what is going on in (American) society at present. Quote
royal deeside cowie Posted September 22, 2020 Report Posted September 22, 2020 You do get it in the UK. We've had Netflix here for many years, brother. As for the programme, it isn't shedding any new light on any first world ideology the common man isn't privvy to. In lehmans terms, everyone knows Google are monitoring our searches. Quote

Slim Posted December 19, 2020 Report Posted December 19, 2020 Just finished S2 of The Mandalorian, fantastic TV if you have any kind of passing interest in Star Wars, shits all over all of the recent movies. Quote
manc_don Posted December 22, 2020 Report Posted December 22, 2020 Quite keen on Mandalorian, wife has just got Disney+ so will try get into that in the near future. We finished His Dark Materials the other day. Annoying it just ends the way it does but I guess that's Covid related. Have started watching Industry too. Ooft, basically a UK pornographic version of suits Quote
RicoS321 Posted December 22, 2020 Report Posted December 22, 2020 If you've not already done so, dark waters is a must watch. Really good. Quote
Kowalski Posted December 23, 2020 Author Report Posted December 23, 2020 Sort of a film, but I watched "Lennox Lewis: The Untold Story" on Amazon Prime. Dr Dre narrates it. Very good. Lennox was/is an absolute class act inside and outside of the ring, and there were some good insights, particularly about his two defeats. That "draw" in the first Holyfield fight still grates for me - I remember it well, he absolutely battered him. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7140274/ Quote
