tlg1903 Posted February 24, 2009 Report Posted February 24, 2009 Was wondering how the lad sammy stuart has been playing Quote
RDU_64 Posted February 24, 2009 Report Posted February 24, 2009 Your best asking Stoney. He's the super fan after all. Quote
glasgow sheep Posted February 24, 2009 Report Posted February 24, 2009 Reserve football used to get pretty decent crowds, but that was when games were played at weekends. My dad used to go to Pittodrie every week, 1st team one week, the reserves the next. Also seem to remember hearing there was one game (Joey Harper's return?) where the reserves actually pulled a bigger crowd at Pittodrie than the crowd that watched the first team where ever they were playing. No chance of that now they play reserve games fucking miles from the "home" team's stadium, on a tue afternoon at 1pm. Not much surprise they are scraping the league Quote
BigAl Posted February 24, 2009 Report Posted February 24, 2009 On the subject of reserves we beat Falkirk 1-0 today, goal scored by Wright. Some boy called J Smith played the first forty five minutes, and most surprising of all, apparently Bossu made a couple of outstanding saves late on to keep us in front Quote
glasgow sheep Posted February 24, 2009 Report Posted February 24, 2009 most surprising of all, apparently Bossu made a couple of outstanding saves late on to keep us in front You sure? J Smith played the first forty five minutes or did he only play 45mins as he broke down on the way off at HT? Quote
tlg1903 Posted February 24, 2009 Author Report Posted February 24, 2009 as frustrating as smith is with injury's im glad he's clearly not being rushed. Its getting to business end of the season and a fully fit smith would really sharpen our claws up front, lets hope he can get a good run under his belt. reckon he'll make the bench for the killie game Quote
BigAl Posted February 24, 2009 Report Posted February 24, 2009 You sure? or did he only play 45mins as he broke down on the way off at HT? Just going on RedWeb report GS. Appears as if plan was for Smith to only play 45 mnis Quote
mizer Posted February 24, 2009 Report Posted February 24, 2009 Aberdeen Res 1-0 Falkirk Res Glebe Park 2.00pm kick off Wright 75 A fine performance from Bertrand Bossu helped Aberdeen Reserves to a one nil victory over Falkirk at Glebe Park this afternoon. The big keeper had a string of fine saves in the closing stages to keep a clean sheet after the Dons had gone in front from a Tommy Wright header. Jamie Smith looks to be on the road to recovery as he played the first 45 minutes as planned, before being replaced by Nicky Clark at half time. Peter Pawlett looked impressive for the Dons and Duff, Wright, Young and Foster all had a comfortable 90 minutes. Quote

Ajja Posted February 24, 2009 Report Posted February 24, 2009 If the reserve league is being scrapped then I would assume that our reserve team coach Sandy Clark will be getting released or will JC create another job for his old pal? He can manage our b-team in division 3. Quote
tlg1903 Posted February 24, 2009 Author Report Posted February 24, 2009 thought clark was brought in as a striking coach Quote
tlg1903 Posted February 24, 2009 Author Report Posted February 24, 2009 anyway, does anyone know how young sammy has been getting on? Quote
Harcus Posted April 24, 2009 Report Posted April 24, 2009 anyway, does anyone know how young sammy has been getting on? Not a ghoster, to be sure. Anyway, reserve league has been given a stay of execution for next season. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/scot_prem/8016772.stm The more things change, the more they stay the same eh. Quote
