Guest fatshaft Posted March 2, 2009 Report Posted March 2, 2009 I believe it was around about the 500k mark. See, it has been clearly stated many many times that the study is costing £600k, and yet you get an easily verifiable fact wrong, and yet we're supposed to take your statement that AFC have been looking to rebuild for 15 years as gospel, despite no such statement being in the public domain. My memory only goes back 6 years maybe, yours can;t even cover 12 months it seems. :hammer: Quote

ntbear Posted March 2, 2009 Report Posted March 2, 2009 It isn't possible to redevelop the main stand, as there is no room to do it. The pitch is one side, and a road, which the council will not move/redirect/close is right behind it. So, you would be left with a "new" main stand of about 5 rows of seats, given that we need extra space for player run off, technical areas, etc. It just isn't possible. Quote
TENEMENTFUNSTER Posted March 2, 2009 Report Posted March 2, 2009 OK, let's go with you and Kelt's view that it's a load of bollocks. Now considering that a brand new stadium would cost a hillock o money that Kelt doesn't think that Wiggy can find, then why are AFC not just redeveloping the Main stand? Whichever way you look at it, it is impossible that that option could cost more than a whole new stadium? There must be some explanation surely? Who said it was a load of bollocks? 600K for the feasibility study would be in that category. The study was started at a time when there was at least the possibility of revenue to build it. Now that isn't the case. Getting Colin and Justin in for the Main Stand would cost more than we could ever hope to cover, ticket sales would be cut and the sale of the ground it's on is an integral part of any "new" building. It may cost less but is probably a less likely option. Quote

Jussi makes great one handed stop perhaps... but it looks like he may have been outside of the box. Quote
Guest fatshaft Posted March 2, 2009 Report Posted March 2, 2009 Is it costing the club £600k though? Yes, AFC took on the cooncils share as they pulled out of funding it.
