Andrew Posted May 28, 2009 Report Posted May 28, 2009 I just want to get to the group of stages. I am thinking about going traveling during the group games and it would give it a bit of a purpose if I was to go too every Aberdeen away European tie. Quote
mileenddon Posted May 28, 2009 Report Posted May 28, 2009 Not looked at the rules so can one of you tell me if we can play Motherwell or are teams c=from the same country kept apart in qualifying. Let me know your thoughts Quote
mizer Posted May 28, 2009 Report Posted May 28, 2009 I'd take Derry City in that wee bunch If it was Derry I could make the second leg if it was away, so I too would take it. Plus it would be some trip. Quote
glasgow sheep Posted May 28, 2009 Author Report Posted May 28, 2009 uefa are dropping seeding for the champions league qualifiers......to help spice it up!!.... not sure if they are doing similar at europa league level? UEFA Cup is seeded. Here is a full list of likely seeds for the qualifying rounds http://www.xs4all.nl/~kassiesa/bert/uefa/seedel2009.html We will definitely be seeded for Q2 and Q3. If we make it to Q4, as on the Mad post, it will be tough to get a seeded spot. Quote
dave_min Posted May 29, 2009 Report Posted May 29, 2009 I'd take Derry City in that wee bunch I would be delighted if we drew Derry City Quote
mileenddon Posted May 29, 2009 Report Posted May 29, 2009 I hope we get Motherwell and we can kill them Quote
Mackie's ace! Posted May 29, 2009 Report Posted May 29, 2009 P&J suggests that is Rangers win the cup our first game is July 30th, and if Falkirk do it's July 16th. Are they wrong? Quote
Mackie's ace! Posted May 29, 2009 Report Posted May 29, 2009 I think I must have been getting confused with all the ifs, buts and maybes, as I thought we were playing on the 16th/23rd if Rangers won, and the beginning of July if Falkirk did. Which means even if I wanted to I can't go to the away leg. Better still be in Europe in September! Quote

Rangers win the cup: Motherwell - 2nd/9th July Falkirk - 16/23rd July Aberdeen 30th/6th July/August Hearts - 20th/17th August(round before the group stages) If Falkirk win they are where Hearts are and Hearts and Aberdeen go down one place. glasgowdon Posted May 31, 2009 Report Posted May 31, 2009 Would I be right in saying we only play teams that have came through from previous qualifiers? There are some big teams that enter at our stage. Bilbao, Fulham, Roma, Fenerbahce and PSV are the bigger ones. Quote
manc_don Posted May 31, 2009 Report Posted May 31, 2009 Ouch, didn't realise there would be teams of that calibre! Quote
glasgowdon Posted May 31, 2009 Report Posted May 31, 2009 Ouch, didn't realise there would be teams of that calibre! It's cool, we're seeded with them. Quote
Jute Posted June 1, 2009 Report Posted June 1, 2009 When is the draw? Think I read somewhere that the draw for the first three rounds is 22nd June. Quote
Penfold Posted June 1, 2009 Report Posted June 1, 2009 Think I read somewhere that the draw for the first three rounds is 22nd June. According to the wiki page it's only the first 2 rounds drawn on 22nd June. The third round (us) is drawn on 17th July, at which point only the first leg of the previous round will have been played. glasgowdon Posted June 1, 2009 Report Posted June 1, 2009 I can't believe we're not chatting about this more. Unless we have a cheap and near-by qualifier, my first away may more than likely be group stage or initial knock out. Well exciting. Quote
mileenddon Posted June 1, 2009 Report Posted June 1, 2009 We will only reach the knockout phase with Aidy in charge Quote

TENEMENTFUNSTER Posted June 1, 2009 Report Posted June 1, 2009 We are away first. Both legs man, missing them both. A bit like life for me really. Quote
