Guest Nellie The Don Posted March 20, 2009 Report Posted March 20, 2009 I think sash should get a go. Quote
Harcus Posted March 20, 2009 Report Posted March 20, 2009 Not convinced by anyone currently employed as a manager in Scottish football. For me, Nicholl or Black. Quote
Sharpie Posted March 20, 2009 Report Posted March 20, 2009 Bruce Rioch. Has been in for the job before. Has done a great job in Denmark since. Quote

Probably Nicholl as he's already on the pay roll and he seems like a decent bloke. Have we lost under him when he's been in charge of the team? Quote
BobbyBiscuit Posted March 20, 2009 Report Posted March 20, 2009 Bruce Rioch. Has been in for the job before. Has done a great job in Denmark since. Did he not get the tin tack from Aalborg? My two preferred choices. Probably Nicholl as he's already on the pay roll and he seems like a decent bloke. Have we lost under him when he's been in charge of the team? If JC was to leave, I'd rather have a clean sweep and totally start a fresh with someone from outside. Quote
wee toon red Posted March 20, 2009 Report Posted March 20, 2009 Someone else. As said above, none of the current SPL managers interest me, with the exception of Strachan but that's clearly out of the question. Darren Ferguson would be my ideal choice but even then I'm not sure if it would be a goer. Quote

I certainly wouldn't take anyone from any other SPL team. Black it is then Quote
dave_min Posted March 20, 2009 Report Posted March 20, 2009 Darren Ferguson would be my ideal choice but even then I'm not sure if it would be a goer. It's not. I don't see why it keeps getting dragged up. Quote
Harcus Posted March 20, 2009 Report Posted March 20, 2009 Black it is then Paul Ince you reckon? Quote
boboisared Posted March 20, 2009 Report Posted March 20, 2009 Eric Black. Can just imagine him trying to play good football. Also having been down in England as coach/assistant manager theres maybe the chance he has some proper mates you can get us some decent players. Seemed to speak sense when i've seen him as a pundit before. Quote
willie_millers-barmyarmy Posted March 20, 2009 Report Posted March 20, 2009 Darren Ferguson, been saying since queen of the south, its time for the second coming!!.... Quote
mizer Posted March 20, 2009 Report Posted March 20, 2009 Eric Black with Duncan Shearer as assitant Quote
Kowalski Posted March 20, 2009 Report Posted March 20, 2009 If JC was to leave, I'd rather have a clean sweep and totally start a fresh with someone from outside. Absolutely, why on earth would anyone want Jimmy Nicholl? Eric Black, Darren Ferguson or Alan Curbishley for me. Quote
scunnered999 Posted March 20, 2009 Report Posted March 20, 2009 Couldn't give a fuck at the moment so I've voted for T Butcher! Quote
El Padre™ Posted March 20, 2009 Report Posted March 20, 2009 Why does Eric Black get mentioned every single time we have this discussion? What has he done? Quote
boboisared Posted March 20, 2009 Report Posted March 20, 2009 Why does Eric Black get mentioned every single time we have this discussion? What has he done? Done a decent job with Motherwell before administration kicked in and had a good timke at Covenrty (I think). EDIT: Also an experienced Assistant Manager. Quote

Kowalski Posted March 20, 2009 Report Posted March 20, 2009 Why are Levein, Jefferies, Butcher and Hughes on this list? Surely we could do better than that? There's no point in binning Calderwood if that is the calibre of replacement that is being bandied about. Quote
El Padre™ Posted March 20, 2009 Report Posted March 20, 2009 I'll take Owen Coyle, at least he can win cup matches. Quote
BobbyBiscuit Posted March 20, 2009 Report Posted March 20, 2009 I'll take Owen Coyle, at least he can win cup matches. That's a fair shout EP, never thought of him at all. Quote
El Padre™ Posted March 20, 2009 Report Posted March 20, 2009 That's a fair shout EP, never thought of him at all. I reckon he's well out of our price range though. Quote
BobbyBiscuit Posted March 20, 2009 Report Posted March 20, 2009 I reckon he's well out of our price range though. I'm not sure, it wouldn't have taken a lot of cash to lure him there in the first place. Maybe not though. If you don't ask, you don't get though, do you? Quote
caledonia Posted March 20, 2009 Report Posted March 20, 2009 Willie Miller, knows the club, knows the set-up, already on the payroll. Would love to see him get another chance = LEGEND Quote
Reekie_Red Posted March 20, 2009 Report Posted March 20, 2009 Willie's biggest problem was he was given the task of replacing top quality players who had been the rock in Aberdeen's game for so many years. Now, though, Willie's seen everything that's happened at Aberdeen. He's actually had the balls to stand up in a press interview this week and admit that JC is on his last chance - I'd prefer to hear that than the usual "the manager gets my vote of confidence", which is what we heard from Wiggy about Roy Aitken and Alex Miller right up until the day they were binned. I think of the options in the poll, Willie would be the best for the job, and we wouldn't have to pay any other club a fee for him either. But surely there must be other managers out there that we just haven't thought about who can do the job whilst remaining in our budget. Quote

Reading his book and certain press stories etc he is not interested in heading back there at all. I have to say, I'm more than willing to see how it works out with another manager below him, will be interesting to see what they think of him. JC speaks highly of him and he's done well in the main i reckon. Quote
