Kowalski Posted April 8, 2009 Report Posted April 8, 2009 Not good news. Was just about to post his. Hopefully he is ok. Are you able to provide a medical diagnosis for this one too? Quote
RDU_64 Posted April 8, 2009 Report Posted April 8, 2009 Yes any stroke is serious but doesn't sound like a life threatening (judging from the reporting ) one so hopefully will make a speedy recovery! Quote
glasgowdon Posted April 8, 2009 Report Posted April 8, 2009 Not good news. Are you able to provide a medical diagnosis for this one too? Die. Yours in good health, Dr. GD Quote
baggy89 Posted April 8, 2009 Report Posted April 8, 2009 I would assume that if Eoin is talking to the EE it was a very minor stroke. A quick look reveals nothing on the official Forest site so fingers crossed... Quote
mizer Posted April 8, 2009 Report Posted April 8, 2009 My friend suffered a major stroke aged 27, thankfully she has recovered significantly now and if she can I'm sure he will. Like her he will probably be on anti-stroke drugs for the rest of his life but at least they can prevent it and he can take steps to mitigate the chances of it happening again. Get well soon min! Andrew Posted April 8, 2009 Report Posted April 8, 2009 Sorry about sounding so ignorant but I thought stokes only happened at 50+ sort of age? Is it happening in your 20s/30s common? Quote
Mentorred Posted April 8, 2009 Report Posted April 8, 2009 Sorry about sounding so ignorant but I thought stokes only happened at 50+ sort of age? Is it happening in your 20s/30s common? I was thinking the same that it must be quite rare. Quote
scotfree Posted April 8, 2009 Report Posted April 8, 2009 I was thinking the same that it must be quite rare. Not really. Minijc is only 18 and he has a few strokes a day. Quote
mizer Posted April 8, 2009 Report Posted April 8, 2009 There are different types of stroke, old people generally suffer from build ups of crap in their blood vessels which reduces blood flow into their brain. My friend on the other hand had a car accident which caused a large clot on the side of her artery in her neck, this became dislodged and went up into her brain. As far I understand young people suffer from these, but I may be wrong. Quote

The Doricle Posted April 8, 2009 Report Posted April 8, 2009 Hope this is nothing too serious. Find it hard to believe he's 38, I still remember him as a fresh-faced young loon breaking into the team, despite his return here and later departure. It also means that if he's 38, then i'm............. ............getting older too. Quote
BigAl Posted April 8, 2009 Report Posted April 8, 2009 Terrible news, and hopefully Eoin will make a full recovery Quote
Mackie's ace! Posted April 8, 2009 Report Posted April 8, 2009 Sorry about sounding so ignorant but I thought stokes only happened at 50+ sort of age? Is it happening in your 20s/30s common? It's not "common" but it can strike at any age, even if like Jess they are otherwise fit and healthy. Hopefully he'll make a good recovery. Quote

BrownyBrown Posted April 8, 2009 Report Posted April 8, 2009 It makes me sad to hear this. As someone who has a lot of experience of strokes in my family, the after effects of even the mildest of strokes can be devastating. Watching someone you know and love being 'robbed' of their personality after a surviving a stroke is heartwrenching. I hope Eoin makes a full recovery. Quote
El Padre™ Posted April 8, 2009 Report Posted April 8, 2009 Terrible new but good to hear it wasn't as serious as some strokes can be. Get well soon. Quote
octavion Posted April 9, 2009 Report Posted April 9, 2009 Poor man hope he gets back on his feet soon . Is strokes not one of those recurring things though? once you have one later in life you get another and another till the end sorry to be a downer just asking .... Quote
