Superstar Tradesman Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 What a time to go exploring the Sierra Nevada. Not as much as one bar of signal on my phone, get back and all Hell has broken lose. Still quite surprised to read that we qualified for Europe and just as surprised to hear that JC parted company with the club. In retrospect it sort of makes sense why they hadn't tied up the likes of Seve on contracts before now giving the excuse that "they were waiting to see if we qualified for Europe". Can't be arsed trawling the gazillion threads and posts. Anyone care to give me a run through of the last day of the season? How did it all pan out? Was the final whistle the moment you know we'd secured 4th or were the scores being piped up from Dundee enough to let you know we'd done it? Big celebrations in town afterwards? How/when did you hear JC had walked? Big celebrations in town afterwards? When did you hear the Huns had pipped the Tims for the league? How long after did Strachan and Mixu fall on their swords? Ajja Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 It was all but over in the first half with the huns gubbing UTD and us cruising, although a late goal for Hibs on 45 made for a nervy second half. They went to 10 men so that eased the tension a bit but a hairy last 2 minutes saw them with a couple of chances. The announcement about JC cam a few hours after the final whistle and was all very amicable but then JC came out a day or so later with some bite about it all. WM repsonded and that was that. Strachan went a few days later. Mixu a few days after that. Good holiday ? Quote
