mizer Posted July 8, 2009 Report Posted July 8, 2009 http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/north_east/8140230.stm Aberdeen Football Club is taking legal action over damage caused to its pitch during an Elton John concert five years ago. The SPL club claims the concert promoter Marshall Arts Ltd had said the cost of replacing the Pittodrie pitch would be covered by insurance. However, the club claims it has yet to be compensated for what is said to be a £36,000 bill after the 2004 concert. The club has lodged a claim at the Court of Session in Edinburgh. Quote
Kowalski Posted July 8, 2009 Report Posted July 8, 2009 They should have settled it with a punch up. Saturday night's alright for fighting. Quote

Sharpie Posted July 8, 2009 Report Posted July 8, 2009 It would be a sad, sad situation if they had to resort to violence. I'm still standing by the clubs decision to host this gig. Quote
Harcus Posted July 8, 2009 Report Posted July 8, 2009 I can see this case causing heartache all over the world. Quote

Harcus Posted July 8, 2009 Report Posted July 8, 2009 I'm sure Elton played a gig up in Inverness as well, so AFC should maybe get on the blower to see if Caley will support their claim. After all, That's What Friends Are For. Quote

After all, That's What Friends Are For. Only one problem with that. AFC couldn't pay the phone bill because we're £36k out of pocket. Pocket ryhmes with rocket. Quote

dramsay Posted July 8, 2009 Report Posted July 8, 2009 There has been something about the way the pitch looked since that night. Quote

CtS Posted July 9, 2009 Report Posted July 9, 2009 The concert was before the smoking ban came in. We don't let any fags in to Pittodrie now. Quote
BobbyBiscuit Posted July 9, 2009 Report Posted July 9, 2009 I am presuming these are all songs by Elton John? As a heterosexual man, I wouldn't know. This thread sucks. Quote
scotfree Posted July 9, 2009 Report Posted July 9, 2009 I'm just amazed that you lot know so many crappy Elton John songs. Quote
