Aberdeen FC fans are right to be angry

Duff understands their frustration

By Ross McTavish with Aberdeen FC in Olomouc

ABOUT a dozen Aberdeen FC fans demonstrated outside the stadium after the 3-0 Europa League defeat to Sigma.

They chanted: “You’re not fit to wear the shirt†as the players made their way on to the team bus.

Aberdeen FC manager Mark McGhee was cheered by the fans.

Defender Stuart Duff expressed sympathy for the fans after what was another bad result for the club.

McGhee must wield axe and cut out dead wood – see Stewart McKimmie’s views in today’s Evening Express.

The players aren't fit to wear the shirt....but the man who thought they were is cheered?

He can only work with the players he has at the club.

(i'm not sayin he should have been cheered or otherwise, but he can't pick players to play for us that he doesn't have.)

I was hoping for at least a centre half

Weren't we all? Does getting one centre half in make the rest of them good players? (he should still have made signings by now, of course, and he has to take flak for that, but in the main, he has to work with what he has which is not a lot in more ways than one)

Considerably smaller than the collective waist size.

Cheering a manager who decided playing 4-3-3 against a team who were clearly fitter, technically more acomplished and frankly superior in every way?

Bizarre in the extreme.

Probably worth point out we played 4-4-2 last night, according to Redweb.

True, however, its also his job to get the best from the players he has available to him, and its clear that he doesn't know how to set them up at all (yet!)

They were 4-4-2 last night (supposedly), same as they played all last season. Although he probably didn't realise he'd have to re-train them about that...

In fairness, if they were in 4-4-2 they would still have got pumped. You know it and I know it.

No doubt. But had McGhee bothered to arrange and pre-season friendlies he'd maybe have realised that the team wasn't able to pull off the 4-3-3 formation before trying it out in our first competitive game of the season :-/

Agree with that too.  No accounting for your centre half acting like a fucking dingle though is there?

Protesting at our second game of the season, and our 1st away one, in europe!

FFS Fuck Sake.

What I want to know is where were all these famous Czech casuals when this was going on?

In the Czech Republic maybe?
