minijc Posted August 15, 2009 Report Posted August 15, 2009 Well he's had his chance. A thrashing off some European who-ever's and now a battering off Celtic. How much more should we take ? I think we should appoint Milne Himself to be manager and spend the money on a player rather than a manager. what do you think ? I hope you enjoyed watching the game on your wee TV ya bender. Quote

Frankly I have my doubts based on the start we have made but in reality we should take 9 points from those games if we hope to achieve anything this year. Quote

Kowalski Posted August 16, 2009 Report Posted August 16, 2009 Can't say I share your optimism, but hell, I live in hope I'm not hopeful at all, it is wishful thinking more than anything else. But if we've to get anything out of the league this season then we need to start winning, and the next four fixtures are ideal. Quote
Ajja Posted August 16, 2009 Report Posted August 16, 2009 If we can start shipping first team players out of the picture who can't be arsed and go with Paton, Pawlett, Crawford etc then I think we will at least see a team that gives a shit. Quote

Out of curiousity, as I don't know, is Crawford a RB? Why isn't he being played instead of playing Duff? It does Duffs confidence no good being played there and it sure as hell is a detriment to the team. All assuming of course that Crawford is a RB Quote

Reekie_Red Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 From what I saw of us in the 2nd half against Celtic, I reckon we've got a good chance of taking 9 points from the next 3 games. Quote

Tims took their foot right off the gas in the second half and almost treated it like a friendly so would not read much into the 2nd half performance. Quote

Reekie_Red Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 Our next three are against Hamilton, Motherwell and Falkirk. Even coasting in first gear, Celtic are streets ahead of these teams. I stand by my judgment. If we play against these three teams the way we did in the 2nd half vs Celtic, we'll get 9 points. Quote

Even if we play like we did 2nd half on Saturday we'll still have a hard job breaking Hamilton etc down. We didn't look up for the fight on Saturday against one half of the old firm and that's worrying, hopefully lessons have been learned and MM told the players a few home truths after the Celtic game. He said he was going to tell the players some home truths after the first Sigma game. Clearly not worked from Saturdays evidence. Quote
El Padre™ Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 He said he was going to tell the players some home truths after the first Sigma game. Clearly not worked from Saturdays evidence. Exactly, he's said things to this effect after every game so far and nothings changed. We were horribly exposed down the flanks against Dundee. Three games on and we're still giving teams as much room down the wings as they like. What is McGhee asking our defence to do? Escort players into the 6 yard box and let them have as many shots on goal as they like? Celtic had what? 38 shots on goal to our 3? It's an absolute joke. Quote
