Sandaldinho Posted September 1, 2009 Report Posted September 1, 2009 Anybody know of anything happening before the window closes? any rumours floating about? Quote
El Padre™ Posted September 1, 2009 Report Posted September 1, 2009 According to Aberdeen Mad we're in for Luke Daley on a free, and possibly a midfielder on loan Quote
Kowalski Posted September 1, 2009 Report Posted September 1, 2009 Aberdeen FC manager McGhee set for D-Day swoop Attacker key for AFC boss Published: 01/09/2009 THE clock was today ticking as Aberdeen FC manager Mark McGhee looked to strengthen his squad before the 5pm transfer deadline. Sources confirmed the Aberdeen FC boss was looking to land a creative right-sided midfielder or striker. But with limited budgets Aberdeen FC McGhee said it was likely to be a loan signing for a rising young talent. McGhee said: “I’ve been looking at young players at other clubs who are available as their manager wants them to get some experience. “Ideally, we need to strengthen the right side of the team. Sandaldinho Posted September 1, 2009 Author Report Posted September 1, 2009 Aberdeen FC's Mark has to look outside Scotland ABERDEEN FC manager Mark McGhee today admitted the top talent in Scotland's lower divisions is out of Aberdeen's reach. The transfer window will close at 5pm this afternoon and so far Aberdeen FC boss McGhee has made three signings, all from outside this country. Keeper Stuart Nelson and defender Jerel Ifil have both moved north from England, while Italian full-back Davide Grassi was tracked down in Spain. Financial constraints mean Aberdeen FC's McGhee is unable to even scour the First Division for new recruits. This makes depressing reading! Quote
manc_don Posted September 1, 2009 Report Posted September 1, 2009 So do I take it that its quite a slow day on the transfer front in Scotland? I see Motherwell have completed the signing of an ex french u21 who plays for Charlton. No-one seen Batistuta yet at Aberdeen Airport?? Quote
El Padre™ Posted September 1, 2009 Report Posted September 1, 2009 At least we haven't lost any players..... (Cue Zander, Kerr and Miller all leaving for fuck all cash) Quote
baggy89 Posted September 1, 2009 Report Posted September 1, 2009 Well, 45 minutes left. I suppose the likelihood is that one of our assets is leaving. If it was simply the case of bringing someone in, surely that would have been concluded by now?? Quote
manc_don Posted September 1, 2009 Report Posted September 1, 2009 Anyone else notice Dundee have continued their signings today. 3 year deal for Klimpl Quote
El Padre™ Posted September 1, 2009 Report Posted September 1, 2009 Anyone else notice Dundee have continued their signings today. 3 year deal for Klimpl Aye, that was done a couple of days ago. Quote
manc_don Posted September 1, 2009 Report Posted September 1, 2009 Aye, that was done a couple of days ago. Really? Hadn't seen anything about it, though haven't been on the net much recently. Quote
El Padre™ Posted September 1, 2009 Report Posted September 1, 2009 Mark Brown off to Killie on loan. Good signing. Quote
El Padre™ Posted September 1, 2009 Report Posted September 1, 2009 Watching SSN as well then Padre? Ik ben het zeker Quote

baggy89 Posted September 1, 2009 Report Posted September 1, 2009 I'd doubt anything is going to happen now TBF. Maybe we'll see a couple of out of contract players in the next few days. Did I also read we can make use of the emergency loan system? If so I suppose the possibility of someone like Steve McLean on a 3 month loan wouldn't be out of the question. Quote
baggy89 Posted September 1, 2009 Report Posted September 1, 2009 Williamson to Pompey fae Watford, Diamond to Watford freeing up wages for our new signing?? Quote
baggy89 Posted September 1, 2009 Report Posted September 1, 2009 Yeah, disappointing really, surely McGhee could have at least found us some Dutch amateurs. Quote
manc_don Posted September 1, 2009 Report Posted September 1, 2009 So no news at all? Its a bit disappointing really. Really needed another striker and ideally a right mid. Quote
Sandaldinho Posted September 1, 2009 Author Report Posted September 1, 2009 every transfer window is the same, they waffle on about getting in a couple of new faces before it closes and it never happens. Disappointing as usual Quote
BrownyBrown Posted September 1, 2009 Report Posted September 1, 2009 Oh well, at least we managed to get rid of Derek Young... Oh wait.... Quote
El Padre™ Posted September 1, 2009 Report Posted September 1, 2009 I know - the Red Avenger and Cuervo were telling me on Saturday what they thought we'd get and I just laughed and told them to stop kidding themselves - we'd get fuck all. Same auld shite! Do you call The Red Avenger by his username when you're out? That would be the most amazing thing, ever. Quote
