Sharpie Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 They lost 1-0 to Venezuala in the opening game so are out. Regardless of the Tahiti game. Aha, I stand corrected. Nice one. Quote
Ajja Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 Aha, I stand corrected. Nice one. No worries. Hopefully McGhee will bring our boy home now to avoid any further injury risk against the hatchetmen of Tahiti. He could be in the team to face Killie. Quote
dickofthedons Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 They can still go through if all three remaining games go their way. Tahiti and Spain has to beat Venezuala Nigeria beat Tahiti and also they need a better goal difference that Tahiti and Venezuala Canna see it happening though Quote

He could be in the team to face Killie. I doubt McGhee would do that to be honest. I'm sure it would be part of the agreement that he stays the duration that Nigeria actually participate. Will Mcghee not start with the same team that played der Hun? Just for consistency's sake and the fact that they didn't play that badly? Quote

minijc Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 If he is back for killie, surely starting from the bench? Quote
glasgowdon Posted September 29, 2009 Report Posted September 29, 2009 If he is back for killie, surely starting from the bench? Yea, give him a bit of a rest. Quote
minijc Posted September 29, 2009 Report Posted September 29, 2009 No, not for a rest, so he can come off and hopefully work hard enough to prove his worth. Quote
minijc Posted September 29, 2009 Report Posted September 29, 2009 Nah, Aluko has got to start every game, got to be one of the best players in Scotland. If he comes back and starts I will be far from impressed but we all know he will throw his toys oot the pram again if he doesn't get his own way. Quote

To be honest, when you have the raw brilliance of Sone, you have to expect and allow these occasional episodes. It's the price of genius. Quote

minijc Posted September 29, 2009 Report Posted September 29, 2009 Just playing you at your own game son. Even i'm not that bad, I expect, in fact I demand better from someone from Orkney Quote
BrownyBrown Posted September 29, 2009 Report Posted September 29, 2009 It was a break down in communication though. McGhee admitted as much himself. The fact that he returned to Aberdeen to go through with a medical shows his respect for his manager and the club. Quote
minijc Posted September 29, 2009 Report Posted September 29, 2009 Aye but even then he should start from the bench until he proves his worth, apart from the goal against celtic he has been poor, his general allround game against Celtic was poor aswell. Quote

I would agree with that. He's been pretty poor for more than just this season, I felt his form started to fall off towards the end of last season as well. Apart from the goal against Celtic, he did very little in that particular game. Quote
Edinburghdon Posted September 29, 2009 Report Posted September 29, 2009 Aye but even then he should start from the bench until he proves his worth, apart from the goal against celtic he has been poor, his general allround game against Celtic was poor aswell. Yeah i'd pretty much agree with that too, nothing to do with his international duty disappearing act, purely down to his form of late! Quote

manc_don Posted September 29, 2009 Report Posted September 29, 2009 Is Ifil gonna be fit? Apparently out for up to 6 weeks Not good news really! Although Fozzy played well at CB, I don't really see what other choices we have. With my comment I meant more the team that played the majority of the game. Quote

I thought he did quite well at Falkirk when he came on. He was marked tightly by two men at times but still looked more dangerous than anyone else on the park. Quote
RDU_64 Posted October 3, 2009 Report Posted October 3, 2009 I see Nigeria went through to the next round, through their superior goal difference. Quote
BrownyBrown Posted October 3, 2009 Report Posted October 3, 2009 Well done Sone Aluko! You are making your country and club proud. Quote
mizer Posted October 7, 2009 Report Posted October 7, 2009 ABERDEEN FC winger Sone Aluko will tonight aim to fire Nigeria into the quarter-finals of the Under-20 World Cup in Egypt. The last-16 tie against Germany takes place in the Mubarak Stadium in Suez, with a 7pm kick-off. Nigeria only just managed to sneak past the group stage, qualifying as one of the best third-placed teams. Nevertheless, Nigeria coach Samson Siasia is hopeful of victory tonight. He said: “We’re expecting a tough game against Germany. The knockout stages are always different to the group stages.†Is the game on TV? Quote
