Ptayles Posted September 20, 2009 Report Posted September 20, 2009 Could be a tricky tie Dundee have the potential to beat us just depending what Dons team turn up Quote
baggy89 Posted September 20, 2009 Report Posted September 20, 2009 I think you must be confusing this Aberdeen team with the one managed by jimmy calderwood Quote
mizer Posted September 20, 2009 Report Posted September 20, 2009 Should be looking forward to a cup game against lower league opposition, but instead more worried about it. Why change the habit of the last few seasons Quote

Ajja Posted September 20, 2009 Report Posted September 20, 2009 Comfortable win for the Dons in this one. Dundee won't score against us so it should be easy enough. 2-0 us. Quote
Superstar Tradesman Posted September 21, 2009 Report Posted September 21, 2009 Comfortable win for the Dons in this one. Dundee won't score against us so it should be easy enough. 2-0 us. By that I'm guessing you mean they're going to score 2 against themselves because we're sure as fuck not looking likely to? Quote
19afc03 Posted September 21, 2009 Report Posted September 21, 2009 Based on Saturday's match against St Mirren, I really don't see where the goals are going to come from apart from a Charlie Mulgrew free kick. In addition i thought that the midfield was ineffective and Mark Kerr had a shocker and needs an urgent wake up call. There is a strong chance that the Dee will be far more hungrier than us on the night. Taxi for Kerr? Stand Free! Quote
Madbadteacher Posted September 21, 2009 Report Posted September 21, 2009 I can't see us losing here, I fully expect another dire 1-0 with Miller scoring a dubious penalty Quote
manc_don Posted September 21, 2009 Report Posted September 21, 2009 Can't say i'm very optimistic on this one, but if Jute is, by hell I will be I will take a cheeky 1-0. Can't see us breaking our average for goals a game at the moment but I will be more than pleased if we progress from this game. COME ON YOU REDS! Quote

BigAl Posted September 21, 2009 Report Posted September 21, 2009 Think this will take extra time, with us probably sneaking an undeserved 1-0 win Quote
mizer Posted September 21, 2009 Report Posted September 21, 2009 Think this will take extra time, with us probably sneaking an undeserved 1-0 win Does it go straight to extra time with no replay?!? Quote
BobbyBiscuit Posted September 21, 2009 Report Posted September 21, 2009 yes. Dons are 23/20 at Hills for this one, very tempting... Quote
Ptayles Posted September 21, 2009 Author Report Posted September 21, 2009 Went down to get my ticket today and the bloke from the ticket office said there are 'a fair few' tickets left...meaning a shite load maybe around 2000 Quote

glasgow sheep Posted September 21, 2009 Report Posted September 21, 2009 Went down to get my ticket today and the bloke from the ticket office said there are 'a fair few' tickets left...meaning a shite load maybe around 2000 disappointing but hardly surprising. We managed almost 1000 there preseason so pretty sad if we can't get a decent support for a cup tie. I've heard the jutes are hardly selling their tickets at a fast rate of knots, have Dundee shot themselves in the foot by making it all ticket? Quote

redordead Posted September 21, 2009 Report Posted September 21, 2009 I don't think it would make any difference for us, the apathy right now is incredible. So much for all the stay away fans who had promised to come back and suck McGhee's banger every week. [/ after wasting another £20 at falkirk this week is it any surprise that people aren't lining up to get in. The ESPN deal has shafted the punters and despite having a decent income there's no way I'd take my kids( primary school ) to the game at £16 avg each. The game gets less coverage than ever before and the clubs charge through the nose for a product that's not a patch on what it used to be, the apathy's not just at AFC, it's more the value for money in the SPL IMO. Maybe I'm just being a miserable twat but to spend at least £60 per week taking the boys to footy is absurd, I could put them through uni with that cash. The clubs need to realise that they're not helping themselves and start getting the kids back into the fold.( not just on the pitch). I stated before the ludicrous cost of a dons strip for a 5yr old £58, these are the things building apathy not necessarily the product on the pitch. I can't be the only person thinking that as the SPL cocked up the tv deal they decided the way forward was to milk the fans for all they're worth. I ,despite going to a few games so far this season, feel that the club care a damn site less about the fans than the fans do about the club and this is the real reason for such apathy. they keep feeding us pish and we pay up like monkeys. we pay old firm prices for 2nd division performances. If AFC want busy gates and future support they need to start looking after the people who pay their wages and make supporting the club easier for the youths in the city and the country as a whole. In my view every extra £20 made on a kids strip at AFC is dwarved by the 10 kids who'll get a chelsea/ man U/ OF instead for £20 less and then be lost to the dons. The club need to lose the self importance and go cap in hand to get the city behind them IMO. Quote
redordead Posted September 21, 2009 Report Posted September 21, 2009 oh bollocks, did that quote thing wrong again, sorry Padre, quick reply is too confusing Quote
El Padre™ Posted September 21, 2009 Report Posted September 21, 2009 I don't know if your kids would qualify but U12s got in free with season ticket holders on Saturday. Quote
BobbyBiscuit Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 Dundee defender Jim Lauchlan could return for the Co-operative Insurance Cup third round tie now he has shaken off a hamstring injury. Keeper Tony Bullock is suspended, with fit-again Rab Douglas set to play, but Craig McKeown is injured. Aberdeen will be minus Sone Aluko after the winger joined his Nigeria team-mates for the Under-20 World Cup. Defender Zander Diamond is still out with a foot injury and he will consult a specialist in Glasgow on Tuesday. Dundee manager Jocky Scott: "It's a very difficult one but that's the kind of opposition you want to be playing against. "Obviously, we'd rather be going into the game on the back of a win but the players won't need any incentive for this one." Aberdeen manager Mark McGhee: "We're not playing another SPL club; we're not playing one of the Old Firm; we're playing a team from a lower division. "We should recognise it as that and have no fear of going there and taking the opportunity with both hands. "If we go there and beat Dundee, we'll only have gone there and done what people expect and I don't imagine we'll get a great deal of credit for it. "But if we were to lose then obviously it would be headline stuff." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dundee (from): Douglas, Paton, Malone, Lauchlan, MacKenzie, Cowan, Klimpl, McHale, Forsyth, Cameron, Douglas, Harkins, Griffiths, Higgins, McMenamin, Casement, Kerr. amp Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 What really is the situation with Diamond's injury? If he is seeing a specialist, I take it the injury must be a bit serious? When he does come back, do you think he deserves to be back in a team that is constantly keeping clean sheets? To be fair to Diamond, he did nothing wrong before he got injured so on that basis Considine may have to make may. Maybe we should just play Zander upfront. Quote
