Guest Paulo Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 EE reporting that we are interested in signing Jason Scotland. Wouldn't be a bad signing, always looked decent enough for United. If we did sign him we could play the Jason Scotland world cup song when he scores! Quote
Guest BTR Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 You must be feckin joking! Please, tell me this is a wind-up! Quote
BigAl Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 Certainly has looked a decent enough player whenever I've seen him playing for Saints this season, but maybe, just maybe he is playing at his level. Is he out of contract in the summer, because if not case closed. Quote
sooth_stander Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 And, we piss United off. Once again. ;D ;D Quote
Guest boaby Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 how many strikers do we need? Mackie, Miller, Lovell, Maguire, Brewster, Smith we need a left winger and a left back and a goalkeeper. Unless we sell a striker there's nae point in getting another one. Quote
mg_don Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 I think he would be a decent signing. We're alos close to signing Lee Mair. Not so sure about him. Also we're apprently chasing a left sided player. Quote
Slim Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 Like Mair, he's not good enough, too much fannying about, not enough end product. I'd rather have Darren Mackie in the team, or give Maguire a chance up front. Quote
Drewsome Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 I think they are looking at Phasing Brewster into a Coaching role and thus considdering Strike options. Quote
10menwent2mow Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 If brewster is going to be phased into a coaching role surely that would mean the end for Sandy Clark ? Quote
Drewsome Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 Erm I am thinking more of a partnership type of relationship. Or to plug Brewster in as a consultant at all levels U17 to Sr Reserves. Quote
NorthernLights Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 how many strikers do we need? Mackie, Miller, Lovell, Maguire, Brewster, Smith we need a left winger and a left back and a goalkeeper. Unless we sell a striker there's nae point in getting another one. Smith is a midfielder, Brewster hasn't got too many years left in him and there is no way Maguire is ready for first team football on a regular basis. Have to agree about signing a brand new left side to the team and a goalkeeper though but another striker who is currently in their prime might be a useful addition. Quote
Guest StuSimmy Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 I think Scotland would be a grea signing, hes bagged a fair amount of goals in for St Johnstone this season. Fair enough its the division below but I reckon he could easilt still do a good job in the SPL. Quote
Leerichardson40yrds Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 Wouldnt go near Jason Scotland. If we do qualify for Europe then we surely need to be looking upwards rather than down the way for new players? I think a striker is probably the least of our worries. A naturally left sided player and a ball winning midfielder with a bit of bite would be my order of the day. Quote
Guest gypsymuffin Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 I think Scotland would be a great signing. pacey, knows where the goal is, could play him on the wing aswell. see him on tv a few times this season, always looked very impressive. Quote
topcorner Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 I do rate him as a player but surely we have greater priorities than a new striker?? Quote
Guest The Angus Bull Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 I do rate him as a player but surely we have greater priorities than a new striker?? JC says the same in tonight's EE - says his priority is a wide left player. Quote
