Very true but imo it's too easy to blame poor performances on players not giving a fuck. I honestly don't think lack of trying is something you could pin on a lot of our players.

Like I say it's just my opinion but I reckon a lot of the squad simply aren't good enough.

I know that many of our squad are not good enough, but I am also of the opinion that too many are not pushing themselves.

I was of the opinion at the start of the season that Gary McDonald could be a really important player for us this season. I know that McDonald can be an asset to us, he makes good, intelligent runs from midfield and can be a genuine link between midfield and attack. However, until this season I have never, ever seen a central midfielder who continually lets games completely pass him by. He just doesn't get himself into the game and for a central midfielder that is criminal and there is frankly no justifiable excuse for it.  So I think there is a lack of effort on his part, and he is just one example. He's in the thick of the game, positionally, but chooses not to get involved in it. He's one of the more intelligent players in our side as well, but he's not been playing like it.

ABERDEEN FC defender Zander Diamond could face further surgery today on his injured nose.

Aberdeen FC manager Mark McGhee confirmed Diamond was due to enter hospital as doctors attempt to fix the nose bleed problem that has hampered him since he suffered the injury in a collision with Aberdeen FC team-mate Nicky Clark in training at the start of this month.

Diamond was scheduled to have a general anaesthetic to allow the doctors to properly examine his injured nose.

Aberdeen FC boss McGhee said: “It’s been a nightmare for us and Zander.â€
