safc Posted December 8, 2009 Report Posted December 8, 2009 Hi there, Sunderland fan in peace. I'm currently interested in doing a feature on our assistant manager Eric Black for the popular Sunderland fanzine A Love Supreme, however he's a bit of an enigma round these parts. Thus, having seen that he did alright for you guys, I wondered, would anybody fancy adding their three'pence with a contribution? 300 words or so on him, any decent stories, memories as a player, that kind of thing? You wouldn't get paid but you'll get a namecheck in the magazine, which does really well locally and nationally. Anyway, if you're interested, email me your article/whatever at mackemboy@hotmail.com Ideally by Thursday/Friday of this week. I'll pop back on here to see if there's anything in the responses too. Thanks in advance for your help. Quote
Kowalski Posted December 8, 2009 Report Posted December 8, 2009 One of the best headers of a football I've ever seen! Quote
mizer Posted December 8, 2009 Report Posted December 8, 2009 Never realised he was assistant to Bruce at Sunderland. He played for us before my time. Quote
BigAl Posted December 8, 2009 Report Posted December 8, 2009 We have a resident author on this site This could be right up his street Quote
Mentorred Posted December 8, 2009 Report Posted December 8, 2009 One of the best headers of a football I've ever seen! Indeed, looked like he had springs in his shoes at times. Quote

Thanks in advance for your help. This crowd are far too cynical to help you out mate. I'd try Aberdeen Mad as there are a few writers there that would probably help. Quote
BobbyBiscuit Posted December 9, 2009 Report Posted December 9, 2009 I would have done something for you but my laptop at home is fucked and there's no way of doing it in work. Try the Red Avenger on Aberdeen-Mad. Black was a stunning player, to give you an idea of what he was like I would probably compare him to Mark Hughes. Quote
bilbobaggins Posted December 9, 2009 Report Posted December 9, 2009 Marco van Basten is the player I'd compare him to. Quote
Tyrant Posted December 9, 2009 Report Posted December 9, 2009 I'd compare him to Stephen Payne and to a lesser extent David Beckham. Quote
Madbadteacher Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 Saw him score some crackers in the 80s, always seemed to be able to jump about 6" higher than anyone! Quote
