TENEMENTFUNSTER Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 Could we not say aye but with the clause of recalling him if we need to? That's pretty much what normal loans involve. Quote
maverick sheep Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 Are Caley paying his wages while on loan? If so then I guess letting him stay out on loan is good for us as it allows us to put the money elsewhere. If not then probably best getting him back if the only alternative is season long loan (paid for by us). The tone of Butcher's comments make me think that Caley are paying but potentially can only afford to deal in month to month loan. In which case, it's fine while they can pay but fuck em if they're wanting to get some months for free. Quote
Reekie_Red Posted January 7, 2010 Report Posted January 7, 2010 Could we not say aye but with the clause of recalling him if we need to? That's part of loan deals, normally. In the 2000/01 season, we exercised this clause ruthlessly when we played Livi in the Scottish Cup (or could've been CIS Cup, nae too sure). Their star player at the time was Michael Hart - who was at the time on-loan to Livi from us. We decided to recall his loan for a period of one week until the cup tie was out of the way. IIRC, it was a shite tactic as we drew with them at Almondvale-City-Roundabout-Mcarthur-Glen Stadium, and then they beat us in the replay at Pittodrie. The only highlight of that first game was the taunting of Darren Jackson ... and the subsequent report in The Herald which said "Jackson was proof that, no matter how many clubs you move to, you'll always be stuck with the same stick", or to that effect. Slim Posted January 7, 2010 Report Posted January 7, 2010 In Footy Manager you can only recall players on loan during a transfer window? Not sure if that's applicable to real life too? Quote

Was he actually recalled though, or just not permitted to play against his parent club? I'm sure thats fairly standard practice these days. Quote
