Harcus Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 Former Dundee United midfielder Billy McKinlay and Bohemians manager Pat Fenlon are on the shortlist for the managerial vacancy at Tannadice. United chairman Stephen Thompson interviewed the pair in London on Monday as he steps up the club's search to find Craig Levein's successor. McKinlay is currently on the coaching staff at Fulham, while Fenlon has managed Bohemians since December 2007. The shortlist is also thought to include Raith Rovers boss John McGlynn. Bohemians have won the Eircom League title in each of the past three seasons and Fenlon has been linked with a move to the Scottish Premier League. Peter Houston, United's caretaker manager, has ruled himself out of the running for the job because he feels he is too familiar with the players. Houston was placed in temporary charge after Levein last month agreed to succeed George Burley as Scotland manager. Quote

Ajja Posted January 5, 2010 Report Posted January 5, 2010 What an unbelievable amount of shite this guy speaks! Its a shame because after his recent run of results surely the job is his for the taking On a more positive note for them they are lining up some pretty heavy hitters. The old ex-player can do no wrong despite only being on the staff at Fulham or an Eircom League manager which worked so well for Dunfermline. The UTD re-birth looks set to continue with pace Quote
tlg1903 Posted January 5, 2010 Report Posted January 5, 2010 Playing devils advocate a wee bit here but all the people they are looking at are hardly inspiring, maybe they should go for calderwood Quote
Jute Posted January 5, 2010 Report Posted January 5, 2010 Irish lad in the work says Fenlon is very highly thought of in Ireland and is being tipped as a future Ireland boss. As he is boss of U23s might well know of some decent young Irish players that Arabs could pick up for next to nothing as well. Quote

Jute Posted January 5, 2010 Report Posted January 5, 2010 Stephen Kenny was very highly thought of in Ireland. Lad in here said that was not the case outside of Derry. Rest of Ireland thought he bought success which to be fair has been proven since. Quote
BigAl Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 Arab's purse strings don't stretch to compo for first choice manager. Negotiations at an end Next ? Quote
Guest rocket debris Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 Arab's purse strings don't stretch to compo for first choice manager. Negotiations at an end Next ? I don't believe anything until Tyrone says it first. In a minute, you may be corroborated by the oracle. Quote
tsr Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 Seem to be dragging this one out, you'd think they'd be in a hurry the way Houston is going about his job. Quote
Ajja Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 Low ebb at Tannadice. Can't afford £200K comp. Did they not get that at least for CL ? Pretty poor show. Fancy the jags to steam them out the cup tomorrow. Quote
tlg1903 Posted January 9, 2010 Report Posted January 9, 2010 Aye they got half a mill for levein and won't go above 90k for fenlon. Apparently bohemians would have settled for 180k. I would be a bit pissed if I was an arab...... Quote
BobbyBiscuit Posted January 9, 2010 Report Posted January 9, 2010 Archie Knox for interim Jute Utd manager apparently. LoL. Quote
